20 Months of age is the best time to get out with you child and in Houston, Spring is also the best time. Definitely take advantage of this weather and use the Zoo. A one year membership would be awesome and if you only use it 2-3 times, it will pay for itself and if within that year you travel to other major cities they may also accept your Houston Zoo membership! There's a train ride in front of the zoo which is a bit more but there's also a pond where you might want to bring your left over breads and have your dt throw them to the birds and ducks. Search the area for parks with playgroud equipment suitable for your dt's age. Bring a zack lunch and a couple of hours there and she should give you a great nap in the afternoons. I also love the Children's Museum downtown. Its really not all that far. Hop on the 59 and you should beable to get there in abou 1/2 hour time if you leave after 9-9:30am. They have a separate area blocked off for toddlers and under, and its great. My first and I were there at least 2x a week from when he was 10 months and crawling til he was 2-3 and we live in Spring. Also Old McDonald's farm is pretty cool if you like to have her look at farm animals. Again, take advantage of the great spring weather and do the activities that will allow you two to be outdoors. You know living in Houston, these great weather will not last long. The various kid/parent magazines also have great suggestions for outdoor, no cost activities that are age appropriate. Take advantage of their websites. All local libraries have story time as well. The list is endless. If you need more send me a message and I will gradly provide. Take advantage of this awesome time you have with her. You may not have an opportunity to do this for long. You are probably in the transition period right now and you just don't know what to do. Before long you'll be wondering where the heck all your time went and you haven't done anything with her yet. Good luck and enjoy!
