Im in a big discussion with my husband about getting activities for my almost 6 years old girl, well the thing is she likes ballet, or riding lesons and I been looking every where and its seems to be very expensive activities, I mean $40 per lesson plus the dressings and stuff, and is kind of sad just to get one lesson a month, I also been looking for soccrer, softball ,karate but I can the right info, we move in november to norman and I been traveling a lot back to georgia because I have a custody fight with the father of my girl, so I havent meet people yet , plus Im stay at home so my only resources are internet, and just wonder if is any cheap or free activies that someone knows,

What can I do next?

I live near Norman and we are members of the YMCA there. They have several activities for kids that are reasonably priced. You don't have to be a member to participate in the activities, but it does cost a little more if you're not a member. My sons have done swimming, soccer and now taekwondo there. They also offer t-ball and kickball, preschool, summer camps, etc. Here is the website if you'd like to check it out:

The Norman Parks and Recreation Department offers a lot a different activities at a good price. They offer several dance classes throughout the fall as well as tumbling, karate, etc. Check out their website: http://www.ci.norman.ok.us/parks/
They don't have the fall schedule posted yet but you can get any idea of what they offer. Just click on "Summer Brochure" located on the left of your screen. They also offer a winter session which might work out better for you since you will not be here until November. The schools are also really good at sending home any information on programs that are offered in the area in the Thursday folders each week. Good luck on the move.

Shock cheer and tumbling in Norman is actually really great. You said yuour daughter is almost 6 and depending on her birthday would depend on what age group and price the class would be. For the younger age group the price is $35 a month for a one hour a week class. For the older age group the class is $55 a month for a two hour a week class. This is just a recreation class and they do not have to perform if they, or you, do not want them to. This is the info for the cheer classes. They also have tumbling, dance, and are starting soccer. I hope this helps some. If you want to check it out their website is shockcheer.com. They also have competitive teams but don't worry about that. Those do get expensive but the rec teams are nice and pretty cheap.
