Have you seen it?

Was it a whole tissue box movie?

What did you think?

Good portrayal of a 9/11 story? and then continuing story?

Some critics are saying it was too soon to make a ''shitty'' 9/11 movie....and I found that shocking....here is the bad press on it...so now I am really confused if it is gonna be worth watching.....I know it will be sad.

Thoughts??

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

Cool That would be awesome!! I have watched the trailer a few times and It brings tears to my eyes...I know I will watch it.....I just hate surprise's:)

Jess S......That was the critics thing too....I o not know if I am ready. I do not think it is something I will ever be able to re-watch without crying. I was 18 when it happened....Just out of High School. It was the first thing ''Grown-up'' I ever dealt with on a horrible emotional level.

this is why I have to ask ahead of time........

I really, really, really (did I mention really?) hate sad movies. So this is one I will probably skip out on. Also I dont think its too soon. It's been ten years (so hard to believe) and I think those who say its too soon will never truly be ready, and thats ok too

I really don't plan on going to see it, but only because I am never "drawn" to sad movies. Tear jerkers are NOT what makes me buy tickets.
I have seen the previews though, and I can't imagine that Hanks or Bullock would be in a crappy movie. Most of Hanks' work is top notch. And Bullock's work in the past few years has been much better than some of the lighter fare she started out in.
I'd have high hopes for this one, if I were "into" tearjerker movies.

My hubs and I are planning on watching it soon, will have to tell you how it is.

I dont see how it can be that bad though, the cast is great! I love Tom Hanks and Sandra Bullock!

I cannot wait to see it.
I can't imagine the movie being anything other that respectful, powerful and meaningful. How could that be "shitty"? You know what they say about opinions......

My husband and I went to see it this weekend and it was not all sad and tears. I found it slow but with a good story line. It wasnt ALL about 9/11 but moreso of one left behind and his attempt at grasping the last he could of his father. I would rent opposed to payign top dollar to watch it.

I saw it Friday night, it was a great movie. There were certain parts that were a little slow but over all the basis of the movie was good. It wasn't centered on 9/11 but more about the changes it caused in peoples lives. I will say I cried a few times, but I think it was more because I am a mom and I can not imagine having to deal with such a drastic change for my kids. I would say see it but be prepared to be a little sad. Defiantly makes you grateful for what you have regardless of the situation!!

I haven't seen the movie, but read the book awhile back and thought it was really good. There are some confusing parts where the story jumps around a bit and I wasn't always sure what the time frame was.

It did finally all come together and it was a good story, more about the boy that was lost without his father and trying to find some answers, rather than the 9/11 story. It gets you thinking more about how the families are doing than the tragedy itself. How people cope.

I will be watching this movie regardless of what the critics say.
I don't always agree with them, sometimes I like a movie they hate and other way around.
I like this kind of movies, not always love them, but I like the movies that are about overcoming, and how the love of somebody (parent, husband, friend, etc) can change somebodies life.
About being to soon of 9-11, I agree with the other mom, 9-11 will always be remembered and for some people more then other it will always be to soon and that is understandable.
