Get Acidolphilus and melt it in her bath water it will help a lot. It will also help clear up the bumps. Just use several tablets in a bath. And good luck!
Hi moms! You have been a great resource for me and even though I don't ask very many questions, I really enjoy reading all the helpful advice given. My daughter has been on antibiotics for an ear infection for about a week now. I was administering probiotics (in capsule form but broken up and put into yogurt or apple sauce)1/2 hour before her medication, but then she was refusing it, so I slacked off. She now has red bumps in her genital area, which I'm pretty sure is a yeast infection. Are there any "natural" remedies you have tried to help aleviate the pain/itchiness or clear it up? It really only seems to bother her at bathtime, although it is not that bad because she LOVES to play in the bath. I just remember how awful it felt when I had one. Thank you in advance for the help! You all are wonderful!

Have you tried using baking soda in her bath water? It has done wonders for my daughter. We can only use Pampers Sensitive Wipes. Ask her pediatrician if you can use Monistat or if he will give you a prescription for Nystatin to use after her baths. Good luck.
Don't try to treat this on your own. Little girls are not "able" to get yeast infections like adults and teens. Please take her to the doctor and let them diganose and treat. The probiotics are great for her system, but this could be something totally different and unrelated. Don't let her suffer one more minute!
Hello A.
My daughter often had those female issues. The doctor in California (a very naturalist) said for us to try cream not gel format of neosporin. I did that and it seemed to help but I stopped the baths. I also think she had seasonal allergies that presented itself in an irritated vaginal area. But I think you should talk to you doctor because antibiotics can cause yeast infections that need to be treated. Good luch....girls and there issues...did our mom's have all these problems?
A.,as long as she is still on the antibiotics, do not use grapefruit. It can counteract the progress of the antibiotics. Yeast infections are often caused by antibiotic use. Talk to your doctor about what can be done, and shorten the time in the tub. This can cause them as well. diaper rash ointment is great for the itching, I only use Arbonne Internationals ABC baby line, it's botanically based and works great. Even keeps my son's eczema at bay. I sell the products now, but only at wholesale cost. If you are interested, give me a buzz. ____@____.com Good luck and hope she feels better soon!
My daughter is now 11 years old. She used to get an itchy monkey every time she took an antibiotic. I finally purchased a probiotic from a health food store, and she ate she ate lots of yogurt. The pediatricians warned against this. But, that was before alternative medicine was more accepted. It turns out that my daughter is allergic to yeast. She takes a Pearl probiotic found at the health food stores daily (more if she eats lots of sugar, wheat, junk food).
I also remember having this conversation with my cousin who had the same problem with her young daughter. It turned out that she kept getting pin worms from her next door neighbor. Be careful though. The doctors turned her into social services. It took a while to figure out that she had pin worms. She had to demand they test her for this since they were not seeing any worms.
My grandson had this from juice. I used baby powder with cornstartch during the day. This helped him alot.
My nine month old had one as well. The Dr prescribed Nystatin. I was to mix some of it with some desitin and some milk or magnesai to make a paste. It worked great!! I use it all the time now minus the nystatin unless she needs it.
I would definately take her to the doctor because you do not want a yeast infection to turn into another infection. I understand that she is 2 1/2, but she still needs the proper medication to get rid of it. Yeast infections do not go away easily on their own and frankly I see no sense in putting her through the itching, burning and pain associated with it. Good luck!
Not sure if it will help if she already has one...My pediatrician told me to feed my daughter yogurt while on antibiotics. Doesn't matter if it's frozen yogurt or the small snack size cups. I even tried it while I was taking one. No infections.
Sometimes grapefruit seed extract works to clear up yeast.

I don't have experience w/ my little one, but when I was little, I used to be on antibiotics a lot. When I would have a rash like you're talking about, my mom would have me sleep "exposed" to the air. Also the would use Nystantin?? powder on me and sing puff (puff the bottle) the magic dragon...this seemed to help me a lot.
A.,
Try putting 1/4 cup of Apple Cider Vinegar(preferably unfiltered, but the regular kind will do) in her bath. My midwife told me about this, and it really helps with the irritation a lot! Normally, I would suggest garlic supplements as well, but she is too young to mess with capsules. If she will eat garlicky foods, that could be just as good, provided you use fresh garlic.
The yogurt is good, and try and keep her away from yeast and refined sugar, both feed the infection.
Hope this helps and that she is feeling better soon!

This is a common issue in my house...my daughter has been on and off antibiotics for ear infections for months. First...you can buy in the pharmacy a probiotic called Florastor for Kids. 1/2 packet twice a day in her bottle will do wonders. Second. a standard tube of Lotrimin will fix the yeast infection pretty quickly. Apply once in the AM and once in the PM (no more than that) for a couple of days, and your baby will be back to normal quickly.
Good Luck!
that is very common call your doctor and talk to them. good luck!
Put a little milk of magnesia on her bottom every time you change her. Sounds crazy but it really works and works fast.
I always give/take at least a couple of spoonfuls of yogurt when taking the doses. You could try making a yogurt smoothie with fresh fruit and yogurt in the blender. Good Luck!
you may want to ask your pediatrician first about this but i do know that if your daughter can swallow pills there is one in the natural section of the store call acidopholis. i am sorry if it is misspelled. and if she will eat yougurt that has active cultures in it that will help as well.
i hope this helps.

My daughter was born with one. Now at the age of nine she has unfortunately had a few from taking medication. Dr. Parks always calls her in an external cream and she uses that for like ten days and it clears right up. As for natural at her age I am not sure you will find that. I use natural for everything from cleaning my house to brushing my teeth and I know of nothing. Call her doctor and find out his recommendations. And if he knows something fast natural and effective for them let me know too cause mine does not.

I've heard that probiotics that are in capsule or tablet form don't really have live cultures, as they would have been killed during the processing. They are better in a powder form. Also, I don't think it hurts to break down and get an inexpensive cream from the drug store, of miconazole or something. I don't buy the kits, as they seem so overpriced, and I found that if I just used a spot of cream every day, it went away in a few days. It turned out that my hubby and I were passing it back and forth, so I had one for seemingly years, but we finally figured out that that must have been what was going on, and we used the same stuff to cure us both.
Go to an herbal store and ask for Gentian Violet. It will turn everything it touches purple but it is an all natural way to clear yeast infections anywhere on the body. (Internally or externally) Good luck!!!
Hi,
You can feed her yogurt with live cultures and also take plain yogurt and use it just like you would vaseline on her privates. It really does make the itch and redness get better. Also betadine can be used by women for douching, you may can put a little bit in an ear shringe or bulb and use a little inside of her. Just a thought.
