Hello everyone!
Since the holidays I have found myself to be exhausted! With a full-time job, a 4yr old son, and a husband who sometimes seems to be as needy as our child, I'm beat and my eyes are showing it. I have been using cucumber slices almost every morning and that seems to help with the puffy-ness but my eyes still just look like two big dark circles on my head, it's awful! Does anyone have any at home remedies or even products i can purchase to help fix this? Im already using the yellow concealer under my eyes nd it helps a little but I would really appreciate any other suggestions!
I look forward to reading your response!
Thank you so much to everyone that responded to my post. All of your answers were very helpful. I do drink plenty of water and take a multivitamin, but i know i need more rest. I set-up an appointment with my PCP to possibly have blood work done. The thought of possibly being anemic never crossed my mind and even though I HATE needles id rather be safe than sorry. I also plan on trying out some new products which is always fun! Thank you again for all the great advice, it is much appreciated!

GO TO SLEEP! And drink lots of water. Leave some stuff undone and go to bed early a few nights in a row. And drink some more water. My husband and daughter are prone to those dark circles- and man! they show up when they are tired. A good night's rest and lots of fluids and they are circle free...
Good luck. I know "go to sleep" is often easier said than done..

Try getting more vitamin K, or if you don't take a multivitamin try that first, if you do try the vitamin k, they have it in a cream to for dark circles and spider veins.

I have used Dermablend concealer for years under my eyes and on blemishes. You can find it at Dillards. It's a little pricey, but lasts forever.

AS one person said, rest and water are best. Also, do you have any allergies? Seasonal allergies can often cause dark circles under the eyes. If this is a problem, getting these treated can help.
I really like the concealer from Aveda. It is all natural and gives me great coverage.

Rest and drink water. That is the natural way to take care of it. Also are you taking a multivitamin with iron? It will also help you.
Does your mother or grandmother have this problem also? It could be hereditary. Then you can conceal it, but it will always be there.

Just something to think about...could you be anemic?? I had begun noticing really dark circles under my eyes, exhaustion, and some shortness of breath this past fall. I just thought I was a tired, out of shape mom. Treating my anemia has made me feel tons better and my dark circles are all but gone. As for cosmetic tricks...try only putting mascara on your top eye lashes to minimize shadows under the eye. Hope you get some rest!

Hi J.,
Well I have to agree with water and rest, dark circles are a sign that your body is telling you I need rest and I am dehydrated. A good regimen of vitamins a day and water with rest will snap that color away. Work from within and in the meanwhile a little concealer will help. Lack of rest will cause alot of damage to the body and not enough water too. If you don't like the taste of water nestle puts out this great orange water its 2.99 for a 6 pack of 16oz. Zero carbs, zero sugar, zero fat. Its good stuff! In the mean while water, rest and a friend to help out with the kidos hehee.. best of luck!

I must reiterate--nothing works like rest and hydration! It might not be easy, but your body is gonna get it one way or another--either you give it rest, or it will just crash and take it. Send your husband and son AWAY for an entire day on the weekend, and just lounge around all day...stay in bed if you want. Drink plenty water (and eat "wet foods" like fruits and fruit popsicles) and watch comedies on TV. The laughter will help you de-stress.

Eye Treatment by SHaklee!!!
Rids puffiness, dark circles, lifts.
I have a fantastic product. It works for dark circles, puffyness, lines and wrinkles. It is a serum that you use 2 times a day and I think it works incredibly well. It is a natural product too so you don't have to worry about the chemicals. It is by a company called Sensaria Natural Body Care. Check out my website to see more info www.mysensaria.com/beckysspa or call me at ###-###-####. I know you will love it.

Apply a white eye shadow on the dark spots and then apply your foundation. This lightens it but isn't as obvious since the foundation covers it.
Other recommendation: Get some rest. Your body will peter out in other more critical ways if you don't.
Good luck!

Cucumbers do work for puffiness, however for the dark circles, you want to use lemon juice. Before you go to put, put 2-3 drops of lemon juice on a finger and lightly rub underneath each eye. When you wake up the circles will either be completely gone or else much lighter and then can easily use a base or concealer.

Avon's Lighten Up Plus Eye Cream worked wonders on my sisters very dark circles. I was amazed. I don't sell it but you can go to Avons website and find a consultant near you. It is regularly $15 but they put it on sale some times. Good luck! I have bags under my eyes and a Dr. told me that no amount of eyecream would help. He said it would take plastic surgery. I have tried so many products for that to no avail.
They did say on that new show the Dr.s that you can use lemon for brown age spots so maybe it would work for your problem as well.

Vitamin K is supposed to help with the dark circles. You might also go in to your doctor for a full physical and see if you have any kind of deficiency. You may be lacking in some kind of vitamin.
Lots of cosmetic companies make vitamin k creams for under eyes. Olay may have one, I know Mary Kay has one. Good luck.
