Today was the last day to spend my Kohl's cash and the last day for the 20% off shopping pass. I thought I'd try to knock off a gift with it. I found a Wii game priced $24.99 and it was 20% off. I was thinking that my additional 20% off would bring it down to $15.99 and then my Kohl's cash would take care of all but a dollar or so.
I was suprised when I had to pay more than $4 because they took the Kohl's cash first and then the 20% off. I can see why they do that but it doesn't seem fair. I think of Kohl's cash as cash...not a discount off the item.
Anyone else have a similar experience?
I think they always take off the Kohl's cash first, then the % discount.

I don't think you should have to use their credit card to get the % discounts though.
But it's their policy. So I just do another transaction & pay it off with cash right then & there. (Hope I haven't help you up in line! LOL)

Yes, disapoointing but still a great deal! :-) If you think about it, the problem was not really with the cash, it was with the coupon - the 20% is off the price of the item after all other discounts are taken.
And btw, I did not have to use a Kohl's card to use the 20% off pass (I do not even have an account with them).
The same thing happened to me the first time I had Kohls Cash and a coupon. I thought of the Kohl's Cash more as a gift card and just a method of payment. Kohl's always has good sales though and awesome coupons!
