I have a son who had a string of unexplained fevers over the course of 9months. Sometime they would hit so fast he would have femeral seisures(from the fever getting high,or low to fast) I finally found a peditrician who did some obscure testing and found out that although he had been vacinated for everything he was not responding to the vaccine and having boughts with the bacteria that causes pnuemonia. I had to get him a pnuemonia (I am sure I am not spelling that correctly) shot (like what the elderley get and we have not had a unexplained fever since. It turns out only 80% of the children vaccinated actually respond to the vaccines so my sone is not one of them. this was also confirmed when he at 3years old got chicken pox. Since his system doesnt build the anti bodies like other kids he is more suseptable to childhood illnesses. I still make sure he is up to date on his shots since although he got chicken pox he only had them for 3 days.Hope this helps. BTW I would be happy to give you the name of the peditrician, I personally think she is sent from God, but thats just my humble mothers opinion

My 2 year old does the same thing. She feels fine, but day care calls and says she's running a fever and they send her home. I can't tell you how many days I have missed to take home a child that feels great! Her ped. says that fever is good, it fights off infection and is okay as long as it doesn't get too high. If it's 101 or lower that I should let it run it's course. Problem is, the day care won't allow that and as a result I end up giving her Tylenol, take away the fever and then she really does get sick. If you're a sahm, I wouldn't bee too concerned, but just in case, double check whith her doctor.

Good Luck!

Have they ever checked her urine? I have two little girls that have urinary or kidney reflux. My oldest was have fevers been fussy and we could never figure it out. They finally tested her for this and put her on meds and that fixed everything. Good luck.

Hello:

My 2 yr old was the same way, we saw several Ped. Dr.s and finally Dr. Alicia Garcia-Fernandez in Zephyrhills recommended we see and ENT (Ears, nose and throat Dr) so we saw Dr. Patel in Tampa on Fletcher and he recommended taking out his adnoids and tonsiles (they were very swollen) they were like that for so long that he was use to it so he would not complain. He them taken out March of this year and no more fever.

Not sure if that helps or is your daughters problem, but it sounded the same.

Thanks

L.

My 21 month old son gets the same thing, he gets fevers out of the blue for 3-4 days at a time about twice a month with no other symptoms. The drs werent to worried about it and the telenurse never is either so I just give him tylenol and let it run its course unless it seems worse than before then we go to the dr. Through out his life he has been a lot more sick and a lot more often than my first son ever was, its amazing how your kids can be so different. Ask your dr first and see what they have to say about it.

Have they run a urine test? My daughter had an unexplained fever and they ran an urinanalysis and found an infection. The doctor said it could be a bladder infection or an infection of the blood. Just a thought...

I hate to be critical, but how are you taking her temperature? I am a nurse and have found I should assume every mother knows how and uses the correct equipment for the child. Some kids ears are too small for the ear thermometers and some kids skin runs warmer than the body so the tapes don't work well. Some of the electronic ones have short battery lives. Make sure you are using your equipment correctly and it is working correctly. If you have a knowledgeable nurse in your doctors office ask for help.
The next thing is to make sure this is not a response to her environment. Temperature of course can cause her temperature to go up. I found with my oldest, when his environmental allergies were in full effect he would have a low grade temp. He ran in the 99 range most of the time, and would easily go up to 101.

my cousins daughter has the same issue and she is 8. the only thing they can think of is stress. at 3 alot can be stressful. or she may just be getting mildly dehydrated. if she is running alot that will do it. at three my 5 yr old autistic daughter used to do the same thing. no matter how much clear fluid i pushed she would over heat. the bad part is i figured it out after 2 seizures, nothing bad but really scarey. so i started pushing even more fluids. if they can't find anything it may be stress or mild over heating.
