I don't know what "bomber" means, but if it means kind of a dark chocolate, then my mom has the same colors and she painted her room the most beautiful shade of sky blue. It's stunning!
Hello
I have bomber brown leather furniture, cherry coffe and end tables and dark stained wood trim on the windows...I am wanting to repaint the walls, they are now a country white, which is beginning to yellow some, been on the walls for 10 years! I would like to use a color on one or more walls and paint the others white? Any other suggestions? Or what color would go better? Thanks for any ideas! The carpeting is an oatmeal colored berber.

I'm partial to blues (robin's egg or sky), forest or hunter greens and purples myself. A lot of the greens I'm seeing on some of the decorator shows lately remind me too much of the 1950's olive green and I've never cared for it. To me blue is a restful relaxing color.
Hi T.,
Alot of friends I know have chosen warm colors. Get a few samples of paint chips at home depot or Lowes. Light greens are calming. Yellows are uplifting. Think about the other fabrics?curtains and such and pull those colors, they will help the walls to POP.
Have fun too. Add texture with sponging and such. You can get more ideas if you go to DIY.
Good Luck,
K.
I think a brick red type of color would be gorgeous with that furniture. It doesn't stain easily, and is very warm comforting color. We have something similiar and we used a textured paint rather than a semi gloss paint.
Hi T., Maybe paint a taupe color on the three walls instead of white and try some shade of brown similar to your sofa on the fourth wall as an accent. This will bring all your warm brown tones together and give your room an updateed feel. Try to find a rug with similar colors that also have a color you can use for accent pillows. Good luck!
What other colors are in your LR? Do you have curtains and accent pillows that you wish to use?? Do you want to go bold or subdued?? If you are brave w/bold colors, I would go w/RED!! I have a beautiful dark red in my LR on one wall w/a beige on the remaining walls. I have beige and red curtains, as well as red slipcovers. I think the red wall would look stunning w/your dark furniture, carpet and wood trim! Oh, and the ceiling is white. Good luck!!!
It's sort of going to depend on the size of the room. I am a HUGE fan of dramatic colors, but they tend to make a room that is small look like a cave, whereas lighter colors tend to open a room up.
That being said, If you have an average size room, I would go with a dramatic color on the walls and leave the ceiling white or just slightly tinted to draw the room upward and make it feel higher, thus bigger. I bet a nice bright red would look amazing with your furniture. Maybe do it just on the wall behind the couch then go with a cream color on the rest of the walls to give it a nice contrast. Or if you really want to go wild, do red all over with a cream trim (I know - OMG I don't want to paint the wood trim, but I feel dark wood trim just makes a room feel closed in and aged).
Also, go into home depot or into Benjamin Moore and look through their design books for ideas. You would be amazed at what can be done with paint these days.
We used a paint color in our bathroom to complement dark brown tile we put in - Subtle Oatlands Taupe from Lowes (Valspar) that is a very light grey/brown taupe color. It's such a great color and really leaves the room bright and airy which contrasts nicely with the heavier brown colors. Also, I think a blue to blue/green color would look amazing as an accent wall. I have a friend that has 3 white walls and 1 accent wall with a blue and a faux finish (she too has dark leather furniture) and it's so pretty. You don't have to go too dark or too bold either. Try something like Hidden Spring (available at Lowes). We used that in our guest bedroom and everyone loves it. Good luck!
I would paint a light olive green! Let us know what you decide.
I always thought that a sage or moss green went really nicely with dark brown furntiure. (test a couple samples, you don't want it to be too "minty"). However, if you don't get much natural light in the room, it may make it too dark. In which case a nice creamy buff would be nice and bright. Good luck!
I have similar room colors, and I used Valspar (Lowes) "Belle Grove Buff." It is a rich warm cream/tan. I actually have a slightly darker color in my actual family room. I bought the buff color as a hallway/transition color, but I love it so much that I have painted it in my kitchen, stairs, and powder room adjacent to the family room. I think it would work well as the prime color in lieu of white and or with paint colors of green, brown, red.
FYI - Costco now color matches and mixes paint. It's like $18/gallon (about $16 if you buy the 5 gallon bucket).
We have similar colored furniture and painted all our walls a medium sage green by Behr; can't remember the name, but it looks great.
green. like olive or something. hard to explain.
We have Pebble Stone by Behr. We love it. It's a very light green/gray and works wonderfully with our dark furniture, but it's pretty light so the room still feels open (which I really like). I know some people who have a very light tan/green color that they love, and it looks wonderful with their dark furniture. Good luck!
