I'm thinking I'd like to try that new woolite stick or the resolve powder I keep seeing on TV. both look quick, easy and fairly inexpensive.
what is the best way to clean carpets? No pets to clean after, just every day dirt and stuff?

T.,
I just became a healthy home consultant for a company that has an excellent carpet cleaner. They will even come to your home and clean one room completely free to show you how the machine works.
If you are interested call ###-###-#### and tell them C. Norris said you could have a Free one-room carpet cleaning. (You can also call 1-877-532-5917 if that works better for you).
One thing I am learning with this new job, sometimes the cheapest way is not really the cheapest because you are destoying your carpet and creating a breeding ground for mold and mildew. Realize that the few dollars you are saving may not be worth it in the long run.
With my whole heart, C.
If you are looking to clean them yourself, and not just spot clean, I like to rent the "Rug Dr." shampooers from Safeway/King Soopers. You'll also need to buy the cleaning solution. It's much cheaper than having them cleaned, but a bit more work... One more tip - add about 1/4 cup white vinegar to the solution for each tank - keeps stains from resurfacing.
I also bought a Bissell upright shampooer (small areas), but have used it on all rooms. About 80.00 and does agreat job when you need to get the spots out or do a small area/high traffic etc.
I have heard Carpet Exchange carries a great 2-step product you can use for spot treatments, etc.
