It is my understanding there are different ways to get your carpet cleaned. Does anyone know the difference? Soap? Steam? Quick dry?

What is your experience? I just bought a new home with a SEA!!! of Carpet! The home is located in Buckeye so if you know anyone who goes out there...That would be GREAT! Also if you are aware of a GREAT DEAL as well that would be much appreciated even if you not sure they go out to buckeye. There are just SOO many expences with buying a new house!

I highly recommend ZeroRez (www.myzerorez.com)- they use hot water extraction, which isn't as hard on carpet as steam cleaning. Ask for Jake Meyer and you will get 15% off!

Use Genesis 950 in your machine. DO NOT use a soap based cleaner - it will only gunk up the carpet.

Carpet cleaning businesses NEVER do as good a job as you would. I gave up on them years ago when stores came out with the home steam carpet cleaners. They are absolutely wonderful.....easy to use....it's just like vacuuming. I highly recommend steam cleaning with a solution that does not make suds. When soap dries, it's like glue on your carpet....dirt just sticks to it. You can never really rinse your carpet clean. My new favorite solution is called 'Zep' and you can find it at Home Depot for about $6.00. It is a no sudsing formula and it works great. You can purchase a steam cleaner for around $200 - $250.

Good Luck!

A chemical cleaning only cleans the top of the carpet and misses the dirt down in; and a steam cleaning only reaches down into the deeper parts and misses the stains on top (it looks like it's clean on top, but comes back within a day or two). I believe they call it a dual process to do both, but if you want it really clean, do that. I know that you should NOT use Zee Best.

DO NOT USE SOAP! It never comes out completely, if at all, and all it does is attract dirt to your carpet. My husband used to run a carpet cleaning company and they could always tell when their clients had used soap previously because it would foam up all over again when they steamed it. Carpet manufacturers recommend STEAM cleaning your carpets every 6 months. In fact, that's the way you keep your carpet warranty valid! (I know this because I have a friend in the flooring biz.) I read the post that said steam doesn't clean properly and that the stains come back up. I don't know where that info came from. It sounds like she maybe had a tech who didn't pretreat or stain treat her carpet correctly in the first place! I get my carpets steam cleaned all the time. I have 3 older kids and a baby so I contantly have spilled juice, spilled food, spitting up, leaky diapers, grease, even red stains (dropped popsicles) - you know I've had it all! But I have no stains on my carpet coming back due to steam cleaning. My husband no longer is affiliated with the carpet cleaners I mentioned, but it's not because they did poor work. Feel free to call for a quote. Coyote Carpet Cleaning ###-###-####. They are the ones who continue to do such a great job on my carpet, which is WHITE, by the way!

Hello C....My name is H. and my husband and I own a carpet cleaning business. We have been in business for about 10 years. The method we use is similar to Chem Dry but we are not affiliated. Basically we spray our cleaning solution on your carpet and then brush over it with our machine that looks like a floor buffer. What this does is aggitate the cleaning solution to attract to the dirt. Then we go over it again with a soft mop head. This step pulls the cleaning solution and dirt from your carpet. You carpet is not soaking wet so it dries quickly and you don't have to stay off of it for hours. The steam method can be annoying b/c it does soak your carpet and takes a very long time to dry. Also, with this method there is no aggitation so some stains are tricky to get out. We do travel to Buckeye and we charge by the room. If you would like a quote, email me back with the number of rooms you want cleaned. Please be advised that large front rooms that are the formal living room/formal dining areas count as two rooms. Thanks and good luck with your new house!
Sincerely,
H. Anderson
