Have you tried any stain removers, such as Shout Advanced Gel(its for set in stains) or Carbona? Carbona has a specific one for things like wine. You can find both of these at any grocery store or WalMart, Target, etc. Good luck!
I got red wine on some pale pink pants Sat. and haven't had any luck getting the stain out. I have not dried the pants, knowing that would then set it. Any advice of specific detergent that might help me get this out, even thought it happened a handful of days ago? Thanks!

Carbona makes stain treaters for specific stains. There is one specifically for fruit and red wine stains. They are found in a little yellow bottle in the laundry aisle of grocery stores or even Walmart I believe.
I spilled some on my beige carpet. I used Global Care S.O.S.

try oxyclean. i got redwine out of a white shirt with it. soak it in hot water with the oxyclean over night. it should come out.
My roommate (before I was married) spilled red wine all over my couch. Spot Shot took it right out and its safe for laundry use as well. You can find it in the laundry aisle.
Good luckj!
I drink red wine often and when I sometimes wear it, oxiclean saves the day. Make a paste of oxiclean and water, place it on the stain and let sit overnight, then wash. I have done this even on clothes that have dried, it always comes out.
There is a product called "WINE AWAY" you can purchase at bed bath and beyond, linens and things. It will take red wine out of anything. It is a little pricy but it works. It is also great on blood stains.
Another thing you can try is hydrogenperoxide. This works wonders on blood and simple dark stains and not as expensive as the wine away. Let me know how it works for you.

I second the dry-cleaner idea. My mom swears by Dawn Dish detergent for ALL stains, but I don't think she's specifically tried it on red wine! :) Good luck!
Have you tried soaking them in OxyClean? It seems to get out poop and baby spit up, so why not red wine?

I spilled red wine on something years ago and I remember we immediately soaked it in white wine and it worked!
Good luck!
I worked at a winery for awhile and we used this spray called Wine Out (I think that's the name). People would always spilling red wine and it works like a charm, even on white. You could probably get it wherever they sell wine. I know for a fact that the Chadds Ford WInery in PA on Rt. 1 sells it. Good Luck.
G.,
I would recommend Shaklee's Nature Bright Laundry Booster & Stain Remover. It's a powder that you dissolve in warm water. To remove a stain such a red wine, I recommend soaking the garment in this solution. It may take several days, or the stain may come out sooner. But I'm sure it will take out the stain. I have had excellent success with this product in removing quite a few different stains.
A friend of mine removed red wine stains from a table cloth with Nature Bright.

HI. If you haven't tried it yet, try shout GEL. You put it on and then let it sit for a couple of days (up to a week). I have never had it not take out anything except for dried in ink. Good luck!
I've used ginger ale or tonic water in the past (not sure which it was...it's been too long). I would suggest taking the item to a dry cleaner even if it's not dry clean only...they can do wonders with stains. I've also made a paste of oxi-clean and let is sit on the stain...it was a white shirt and got most of the stain out, but there was some residue left (I just bleached it to get the rest out since it was white). Good luck and let us know if you find anything that worked!
Hi G.,
Have you ever tried any Shaklee products. I'd be happy to give you a sample of the laundry cleaner and the Nature Bright products to try. The Basic H2 cleaner would also probably work. They are organic based and do a great job. E-mail me or give me a call if you want to try them.
