Try some BIZ and let it soak in the washer...actually for tomato stains...try a double scoop of BIZ and let it soak...I always have good luck with BIZ...
Hi
my one year old daughter put a tomato in the dryer and all my husbands karate clothes came out with orange stains on them. The washing instructions say cold water and non chlorine bleach only. I have them soaking currently with some tide and color safe bleach. If this does not resolve it what else can I do?
My husband has his karate class in the evening today.
Thanks
Thanks a lot. I had Shout handy(borrowed from a friend) and it worked and the dress is as good as new(though I had to apply it all over the dress and manually scrub the heavy dress). Also, my husband and I had a great laugh in the evening when I told him about the incident.

Try soaking in BIZ. I have soaked clothes for 3 and 4 days to get stains out. One tip is that hot water activates the ingredients in BIZ. Good luck!!!!!
Tomato is hard. Vinigar? Lemon juice? For tonight, he can tell them it is blood! <sigh> Try some of the commerical stain removers. Good luck. I wear black in my martial arts, so my only problem is keeping the blacks black.
My ex sister in law ran a laundromat! You use I cup of rubbing alcohol, 1 cup of your liguid detergent, and the rest in a spray bottle of water! This works great it took stains out from years before.
ALSO I have used grease lightning for a back up when I don't have my other and that works great to.
GOOD LUCK !

Hi
Ox clean is the best or RESOLV is really good too !!!
Le
Ouch! I would recommend trying Oxi Clean or Hydro peroxide. I have been told the Hydroperoxide will get most stains out including blood. Give it a try
I would try Oxy Clean or Zout.
You may find success by making a thick paste out of the tide and scrubbing directly with a scrub brush. This has worked for me in the past on tough stains.
Hi Manjari! I can't help you with getting it ready for tonight, but I can help. I use some great products. Solumel and Prespot. It has gotten dried blood, medicine, red wine, hotwing sauce stains and others, out of my laundry. It's also the best of science and nature - so it's safer and better for you than other products.
Good luck!

I haven't tried it yet, but my coworker swears by Carbona. They have several different types for a variety of stains. It comes in a little yellow bottle and you can get it at Walmart. Good luck!
Try Cascade (automatic dishwasher powder). Fill your washing machine and put the clothes in with one cup of Cascade. Let it agitate a while to mix it all up. Turn the washer off and let it sit overnight. Then finish the cycle in the morning.
My daughter played softball for years and this was the ONLY way we could get the orange dirt stains out of those white softball pants.
I went out and bought OXYCLEAN and it has NEVER worked for me. I use RESOLVE carpet cleaner (the pump bottle, not the aerosol) on ALL of my laundry stains (except chocolate and then I use straight Dawn dishwashing liquid). RESOLVE has enzymes in it that "eat" biological stains even after laundering. I put a little bit of that on the spot and let it sit for about an hour, then wash it in cold water. Worst case, if the resolve doesn't do it alone, before I dry it, I will just take chlorine bleach and put it directly on the part of the clothing with the spot. In conjunction with the resolve it has instantly taken out the toughest stains. Then launder in cold water. Bleaching the whole garment repeatedly with bleach will break down the fibers, but a one-time treatment shouldn't be any big deal. Good luck.
I have no advice. I just wanted to say What a funny story! LOL I know now it's probably not funny, but I did get a good laugh out of that one this morning. Good luck with the laundry!

Try a scoop of oxyclean. It got red wine out of a shirt. Maybe it will help.
i've had a lot of luck soaking stained clothes in oxiclean for several hours and then washing them. sometimes, you have to do it twice, but it has worked about 95% of the time (spaghetti sauce and blueberry stains included). good luck!!
Hi Manjari. Something that works wonderful on stains is Greased Lightning. It is a household cleaner that can be used on colors and whites. I have used it for everything including bike grease on a white linen skirt and it worked amazingly. Good Luck!
I find the new Shout Advanced spray to work GREAT on set-in stains. Hope you were able to get out the stains!
Well I've gotten red wine stains out on khaki pants before..I used oxy clean stain remover for clothes and an old tooth brush...I would put some oxy clean stain remover and use the tooth brush to rub the stain remover into the clothing...I had to do it about three times in between soaking and it worked....I hope this helps!
Try soaking in Oxi-Clean. That has helped me get stains out. Make sure the water is really hot when you do. Good luck - I hope they get clean.
Try a soak in warm water and Oxi-Clean... that can take out the toughest stains!
My daughter had a white martial arts outfit and I routinely bleached it to keep it nice and white. You don't have to use a lot for it to work.
OxyClean is not bad, Shout is pretty good too.

Try rubbing vinegar and lime on it the stains. It always works for my mom.
OxyClean laundry stain remover works really well! :-)
First, store the tomatoes away from little hands. Next, at www.goodhousekeeping.com there should be a section under Ask Mary Ellen. There should be some tried and true advice. Hope this helps.
Try soaking it in Biz. I love Biz. My husband swears by oxy clean for his uniforms.
My son, daughter, and I all three participate in martial arts, so I understand your frustration.
My instructor told me that if the stain is in a small enough area, you CAN use one of those bleach pens, just on the affected area. He did not recommend using bleach on larger areas, as that can compromise the integrity of the fabric.
I need to ask - you aren't putting the uniform in the dryer, are you? That not only will set the stain (I'm sure you already know that), but it is actually bad for the uniform, especially if there is any kind of silk screening on it for the school logo or what have you.
You may try taking it to the cleaners. In my area, they are very good about getting stains out without damaging the uniform.
Here is another trick from one of the moms of a black belt in our class - lay the garments on a flat surface and pour (yes, pour) enough baking soda on the stain to cover it well. A lot of times the baking soda will "soak up" the stain much as pouring salt on a kool-aid spill on carpet soaks up the dye so as not to ruin the carpet. If you need to, add just a little water and rub the baking soda in. Baking soda should be gentle enough not to hurt the uniform, but it is still abrasive enough to work on the stain.
Hope this helps.
Oxyclean has worked wonders on all my stains...even the tomato sauce my daughter got on the couch. Just put a little on the stains first and then add some to your wash and let soak for a bit before you start the cycle.
Hope this is helpful. Good luck!
Wow! What a great helper you got! Try Oxyclean, you can get them at Walmart.
My family and I take Karate and at some time or another we have had spots and spills and I broke down and soaked them with a little bleach and it comes out fine. You may have to do that.
Try a liquid diswasher detergent like cascade or sunlight. You might try a little first to make sure it doesn't damage the material. Good luck!
Biz laundry detergent (it's a powder detergent) - it has worked wonders on my boys dirty, dirty, muddy socks, they seem almost new again and kept my baby diapers super white - used cloth diapers.
dissolve the Biz in water and let it soak at least a couple of hours or over night.
Also try spray and wash ! but it might be just to much to recover.
Manjari!
Oxyclean!! Make a thick paste out of it and rub it all over the stains and let it soak in. I got red wine out of my carpet this way. They sell it at Wal-mart next to laundry detergents. I use it all the time to get stains out.
That is SO funny that your one year old put a tomato in the dryer - well at least it might be funny one day!! LOL :-)
Good luck!
Hugs!

Sorry, but reading about a tomato in the dryer made me laugh!
My daughter apparently wore her spaghetti for lunch at her school one day, and I didn't see her shirt until the next day, so it was all caked on. I thought it was ruined, but I tried a combination of hot water and Zout stain removal, which helped. But it was the Oxy Clean that really got the stains out. I soaked her shirt in HOT water for quite some time, and had to reapply the Oxy Clean a couple times, but now I can't tell which shirt had the stains on it unless I look REALLY close (the shirt is light pink). Good luck on getting it ready for tonight.
