The same happened with me. I was put on medication to stop the contractions, and finally bed rest. Make sure you keep hydrated too. Tell your OB though.
I am 29 weeks pregnant with my second child. I have been having many Braxton Hicks contractions, sometimes one after the other. One night I counted up to 10 in a matter of an hour. They only last about a minute or so. They are not painful in any way but they are extremely uncomfortable. I had them with my first child but not as frequent. I was wondering if anyone else has experienced this and find it normal. I am not concerned about it, but I am curious.

A., I had Braxton Hicks with both of my pregnancies. I started having them at seven months with my son. And then when I was pregnant with my daugter I started having them at five months. My doctor told me that some women are just more susceptible to Braxton Hicks than others. He did tell me to keep track of how often and how long they occurred, but he was never concerned about them. I would wake up in the middle of the night having those darn things and sit there for three or four hours before they would ease up enough to let me sleep. I can't tell you about much past eight months, both of my children came early. Not becuase of premature labor. I have had type one diabetes since high school. I hope they don't get too bad, but I wouldn't worry. They are more annoying than anything. Relax and try to get enough sleep, you're going to need it!!
suck it up, that's life (lol)
I also had them at 7 months with my son. The doctors just said lots of water and rest. And usually as soon as I would drink a glass of water and put my feet up they would stop. Best of luck.
The exact same thing happened to me! I even went to the hospital twice because I thought I was in labor. They gave me 2 bags of fluid both times and the contractions stopped. I also got pills to stop the contractions in case I needed them. You can take them all the time but I was afraid to take any medicine so it was on an "as needed" basis. But the key is to drink LOTS of water. I know that sounds too simple, but that will probably make them less frequent.
A.,
hey i had braxton hicks from the time i was 23 weeks until i delivered at 45 weeks almost everynight for about five hours at a time and they would come every two minutes or less. And like yours they weren't painful but more aggrevating because i could never get sleep. But my doctors said that some women jsut have them and told me not to be alarmed. And when i went to birthing classes i asked and they said the same not to worry. Good luck!! M.
Congrats. first off and for your peace of mind they get worse and more intence with each pregnancy you normally don't get them on your first pregnancy usually only towards the end but if you had them then you will def. have them this time too!
I can relate. I just had my second child about 2 months ago. I had the same thing. I was high risk too so I was checked alot. The only thing they told me was when there seemed to be alot of them, to lay on left side and drink 3 big glasses of water. Sometimes, I was told that if you don't drink enough fluids it will cause those. If it still bothers you always ask! Good luck, I just had a boy too after my first was a girl and I did not know what to think of that but now he is here I couldn't live without having one of each.
I know the lady at the bottom already said this but not having enough fluids can cause them. My friend had them really bad and once she started drinking more water they eased up alot.
