Hi K., I have three daughters and I can't tell you how many great bowling parties we have been to over the years! I have done one or two myself with great success...so go for it! Best wishes
Hi all. Has anyone had a bowling birthday party? I was wondering if it was a hit or miss for a 9 yr old girl. My daughter is soon to be 9, and only wants to invite the girls in the class. We've already done the nail parties, bouncehouses, museum party-I want to make sure it would be cool enough for her. ANy advice would be appreciated-Thank you
Thank you to all who responded. We had a "cosmic"bowling party called pizza, pins, and pop. It was a huge hit. They made it out like it would be more of a glow in the dark-black light thing, but it wasn't what I expected. I would opt for the regular afternoon bowling for next time if she wants her party there again next time.

I'll bet it will be a hit. Go to lanes that have the cosmic bowling with loud music and black lights! Have pizza & soda &the girls will love it. My son had a bowling party for his 6th birthday and all the kids had a great time.
I think it is a great idea. We have never had one ourselves, but my kids have been to them and always loved it. Two of my kids, ages 8 and 11) are going to one tonight.
I second the motion on cosmic bowling. The kids love it.
If that is what she wants, do it. Bowling is fun, and great excersise.
It will be great! I went to a bowling party for a 5 yr old this past Jan with my 2 yr old daughter and even my 2 yr old had fun. They put the bumpers up on 2 lanes and the kids had a blast. We went to the bowling alley on the Carlisle Pike near Target/Wegmans. The parents paid for pizza and brought cupcakes. I have no idea how much it cost.
Good luck!
I think it would be great, especially if they get pizza and pop. Ask her what she thinks. She'd know best what her and her friends would like.

My daughter had a bowling party before and it was a Hit! I had almost every kid in her class plus, the friends she had that didn't go to her school. They had a great time.
*Before she hands out invitations in school (just) to the girls make sure there isn't a policy that every child has to get an invitation.
The school where she went to had a very strict policy on that.
I will say a hit.. I have been to many many bowling party's and they have been a complete hit.. Not to mention once these party's have been over - the kids don't want to leave. A very Happy Birthday to your daughter, may the Lord Bless her with the very best always... and with the best of health always.. Good Luck in your decision... I am a mother of 3 boys, 2 in college and a 6 year old. I am planning on a bowling party for my 6 year old who will be 7 years old next year in May of 2010.
Do it!! Children AND adults love bowling. I just had a surprise party for a friend last night and we're 28. My nine year old daughter asked to go bowling next year for her party. Plus, it's fairly cheap. Have fun!
HIT!!! My son and daughter have both been to the "Cosmic Birthday Parties," my son celebrated one of his birthdays there and the kids just love it! There are all kinds of black lights, disco balls, music, music videos, dance contests, colored/patterened lights throughout the center, the kids can choose between a slice of plain pizza or a hot dog and they all receive a drink. You supply the cake. I know that the Cosmic Parties are on Sat. and Sun. afternoons here in Pittsburgh. You can walk in and hang out to see what the parties are like. It's roughly $10/kid with a limit of 6 kids per lane. I think each child also gets a free pass for a game of bowling. Just call your local bowling alley and see what they have to offer. Happy Birthday! Enjoy.
it is a big HIT and we have one every year....good party.

My daughter was 9 or 10 when we did a bowling party. I did really cute bowling ball invitations. We rented the whole bowling alley and everyone got to bowl and play arcade games. The bowling alley we chose provided pizza and drinks. I also bought all the girls really crazy socks and we took funny photos of the girls in their ugly bowling shoes and funky socks. It was tons of fun and everyone had a great time!
I haven't done it for a birthday party but I did have a bowling party this summer to gather my Brownie troop to remind them to register this Fall. They had a great time! I'd say it's a hit.
