My Birthday is coming up in a few weeks, and I need ideas of what my husband and I can go out and do. Unfortunately it's on a Tuesday when he works so we'd have to do it the previous weekend. I wish I could say that he would plan something for me, but he works 12 hour days all week and doesn't have time and probably wont think of anything. So it's up to me if I want to do anything.. So I need help ladies! I want to go out and feel special and have some fun. I am a SAHM and never get a break, so I need one desperately!

Ideas anyone??

What can I do next?

I love dressing up and going to a really nice dinner and being served..

Or I like going to a movie theater and seeing a movie while we are served food. We have a place called Alamo Drafthouse.

I love good concerts, camping, Going out of town for a night.

well depends on you, what sort of thing do you like? I love doing odd things. I look on one of those bucket list sites if I know a rare moment is coming up for me. Recently my husband and I did a Aviation Simulation date night. Where we competed in the cockpit of a Aviation training simulator. I was never one to be that interested in flying or planes, but I knew my husband was, so for him I got these tickets, to be honest it was really fun for me. I beat his butt, and had true blast. Laughed so hard.... sometimes I like going to Comedy Clubs, and other strange things... ok i know I might get yelled at by a select few. I took my husband to a Star Trek convention just to see the people that turned up for it. I know shallow, but we had the BEST laugh together, then went out for drinks and a dinner, and well the rest is better kept in the bedroom LOL!

Addition: how come there are no Fantasy Suites Hotels anymore...my daughter was conceived in the Lunar Module Room (moon Pool) haha its too bad they dont have them any more. CHEESY.... HELL yes, but funnnnnn

My birthday is coming up in March and my hubby asked me what I wanted to do and I said "No kids, invite friends over, everyone bring a dish to share and if it's warm enough - have a bonfire." That is my idea of a fun birthday night!!

Dinner and a movie seems so 'dull' but to me, that is as good of a night as any other!!

I love what MartyMOMMA said about doing different things. Is there anything going on the weekend of your said birthday celebration in Tacoma?

You could always get a hotel for the night - order room service, stay in your pajamas, get in their hottub and just have a relaxing (and sexy) night!

Good luck and Happy birthday to you!

I heard that a band that I loved, was going on tour and the day they were in our city just so happened to be on my birthday (which was also a weekday). It was the best birthday ever, I haven't been to a show in almost 10 years, so it was so fun.... and yes, I planned it myself too! The band even sang happy birthday to me after the show.

Think about some sort of activity or something you would love to do but haven't been able to. Go dancing, see a play, horse back riding (may be way to cold there for that), ice skating... see what is going on in your area, there may be something really neat you would have never thought of.

Looks like you have a lot of great suggestions so far, but I'll add mine in.

My husband and I once got a couple's massage at a hotel/spa. It was awesome....2 tables in one room....soft, relaxing music....simultaneous back massages...after that we sat in the sauna and relaxed. Then we went back to our room, got ready and went to a nice dinner. After that we went to a casino and just messed around playing penny slot machines and having fun. We never go to a casino, but go figure I won $50 on penny slots. :)

Obviously, do what appeals to you but my only suggestion is don't try to cram too much stuff into a limited amount of time. Be sure to allow plenty of time so that you don't feel stressed rushing from one thing to the next.

Make a list of things you would most like to do with your husband. I like to see live music with mine. I like to slow dance with mine. I like to try new foods with him. I like to sit on a patio and drink margaritas while we eat chips and salsa. It wouldn't be hard for me toplan a date with him.

Hon, we're going to Glorias for chips and salsa, then over to the Jamaica Gates for dinner and dancing to the reggae band. :) Life is good Rastafari!

Early "Happy Birthday!"

There's a great site, http://www.restaurant.com that allows you to buy gift certificates to restaurants at a reduced price. Today and tomorrow if you use the code " NEW " you can purchase most $25 certificates for only $3, which are normally $10. You find the restaurant you want to go to and print the certificate out yourself and take it to the restaurant. If you sign up for an account they will send you promo emails and codes all the time. Most of the restaurants require you spend at least $25 and they add a gratuity to your bill before the discount is given, but it's a great way to treat yourself to eating out at a restaurant you may not normally frequent, perfect for a birthday : ) I purchased certificates here for my son for Christmas and his birthday the end of December and he loved them.

Hope you have a wonderful birthday!!

I love to go wine tasting with my husband. We have done it for my birthday a few times. Sometimes we go with friends and sometimes we go just the two of us. It is so much fun to spend the day at quaint wineries in beautiful scenery. Whatever you decide to do.... have fun!

In the Fremont there is a fantastic Greek Restaurant. If you wind up taking the kids they are phenomenal about children. We went with three rambunctious and 6,5, and 3 year olds. The waiters were amused by their antics and leaving the table to play. Our kids weren't noisy. It's about my favorite Seattle gracious places to eat. On the corner.
You can get a Reading at the Pike Place Market from the lovely lady whose always all dressed up like a fairy godmother.. A tour of the market is a fun afternoon or early evening trip.

My husband usually comes up with something pretty fun for my birthday. Here are a few things we've done in the recent years:
- Ice Skating
- Bowling with friends
- Cooking class
- Wine tasting class
Depending on where we are going, we may invite friends to join us. Dinner is usually low-key and not "fancy", but if I'm not cooking it and cleaning it up, I'm happy!

Happy birthday!

Think of something you guys used to do when you dated and before you had kids.

We went bowling for my last birthday and it was a blast.
