My hubby is asking me to figure out the best way for him to "detox". His purpose is to prepare his body health-wise for the new baby we will have in a few weeks. Suggestions?

Thanks

Each morning, my husband and I juice:

Kale, romaine lettuce or spinach
Lemon
Ginger Root
Gala Apple
Parsley or Cilantro

Add 1 to 2 cups of cold water and a couple of shakes of cayenne pepper. Wait 30 minutes after drinking this before you eat.

I know that it may sound very unappetizing but it is actually very good! It's great for detoxification and getting all the enzymes and phytochemicals that will aid in digestion throughout the rest of the day. My husband started drinking this juice combination about a month ago because he was feeling really run down. Now he can't live without his morning ginger-lemon zinger. It really does make you feel incredible.

Hope this helps.

I've heard those detoxes are a gimic. I think eating healthy, whole foods is the best and only real way to go. I'm sure if he begins eating healthy he will feel the energy I'm sure he desires for the new one. I agree with the green tea post and also lots of fiber will keep things running smoothly :) Good luck!

Just eat healthy, non-processed foods. This is what we should all be doing anyway and it will "detox" his body naturally. No need for silly concoctions. (I am no great role model, but try to eat natural foods, not so much processed!)

I do this detox once a year which I find great and not too hard on the mind and body.I don't agree with extreme detoxing as he might loose interest quickly if his energy levels get zapped.
It's for ten days and I usually lose 7lbs.
Day 1 Fruit for breakfast ,big salad for lunch and a big plate of veg for dinner(no potatoes)
Day 2 and 3 -just fruit all day
Day 4-8 same as Day 1
Day 9 and 10 the same but add some nuts
As much herbal tea and water as possible.
After the first three days the hunger goes and its amazing how full you can feel after a big salad.
Tell your hubby best of luck

The Master Cleanse~ A LOT of people I know, including my husband is doing this cleanse right now. It is amazing. My husband is 44 years old, and we have 7 children and he is having more energy now than ever, i know men who are in thir 60's doing this and their hair is getting darker and fuller again. if you have any questions about it look it up, or email me.

Skip the juicer. I bought one, but it's just a pain and eating the actual fruit is way easier and better for you anyway.
Green tea is a natural detoxer... sip it all through the day, it also takes away your appetite somewhat. I just lost 25lbs drinking green tea every day.
Not the sugary kind in a bottle or can, the real brewed deal.

Please don't do the master cleanse! It's so terrible for your body! My husband and I did the cleanse in the link below. It's not so much a cleanse, but eating super healthy for a week! It's shown as a weight loss detox, but we didn't do it for that. He did loose some weight, though! It's a very healthy way to detox.

The last thing he wants to do before a major life change that will occur in a few weeks is do something drastic to his daily regimen.

If he wants to be healthy and able to support you, your children, and the baby, I would suggest he focus on getting a minimum 8 hours of sleep a night, eat 3 meals and 2-3 snacks a day (consisting of whole, clean foods), hydrating himself properly, and doing activities he enjoys to boost his mental/social health (because he sure as heck won't be doing those for a while).

His schedule and life is going to be turned upside down in a few weeks - why throw TWO major stressful events/changes on the body at one time?
