I know I know, the title alone has you gasping for air lol..Ok my best friend will soon be adding two more kids to her family of five not including herself.I'm trying to find some type of program where she can receive freebies or shop for non expensive clothing, toys, and diapers? She's not with the father of her children(long story) and she's raising all her kids on her own.I'm just trying to make it a little easier on her not that it will be with all those kids but it's a start. Do anyone know of a such program?

What can I do next?

Like Tianna mentioned about WIC. I am o WIC right now, and the lady said that for a family of 7 (which I have, 5 kids and my husband and I ) you can make up to 61,000/yr. to qualify. As long as you have children under the age of 5. Each child under that age will individually qualify for this. Very helpful. You get each month per child 4 gal. milk,18 ox. (up to 18 oz.) Peanut butter OR 1 lb. dried beans/peas/lentils, 36 oz. (up to 36 oz) WIC approved cereal (non infant) 6 containers (12 oz. frozen) WIC approved 100% Juice OR 6 container (46 oz) WIC approved 100% Juice, 1 lb. (up to 16 oz) WIC approved cheese, 2 doz fresh eggs (12 pk. cartons only). Soooo, double all that by how ever many kids you have under the age of 5 and you will be good. Non of my children are using formula, but they cover that as well. :) Good luck.

Wow. She has truly been blessed. My suggestions would be too maybe apply for WIC this would help out with formula and food. Look at freebies on craiglists for maybe toys and clothes (thats if she doesnt mind used items). Like myself who has a 2 month old, most of my son's clothes were giving to me by a friend who has a son 9 months his jr. If having a baby shower, just ask for maybe diapers/wipes as a gift. Hopefully this will help out some. Good luck.

Has she applied for WIC? I know that they help "low income" families, but in her situation with 7 kids, it's probably lower than it needs to be. There is also ACCESS healthcare which coveres a decent amount, but it's less expensive than others. I don't know of much else, but I know there is a webside, cuponsformoms.com. They have cupons for food and other items that we all get at grocery stores, walmart, etc. . .
Good luck to your friend :)

There is a site called freecycle.org that she can join. This is a site that people can go on to help find items that they need. Everything listed on this site is free and she can also get rid of things that she doesn't need anymore on it. She could also try craigslist. There is a free option on that site also. She may try her local church's also. Some of them have special things that they can do for families that need help. I know here in Albuquerque/ Rio Rancho area there is a place called St. Felix Pantry. You pay $2 everytime you go there and can get bags and boxes of grocery items. I wish your friend all the help she needs! She has a great friend in you!

she also needs to get child support from the kids dad(s). whether she is with them or not, he still needs to be financially responsible for the care of his children! Good for you for being such a good friend.

oh wow yes the title does have me gasping for air! LOL I am 31 with 3 kids and I think 3 is a lot myself! LOL But hey my moms neighbor has 7 kids and is expecting the 8th! And she just split with their father..I was like my oh my!

Well as far as services has she applied through DES for some assistance? WIC is another good resource. She can get WIC for her, the babies when they come and any kids ages 5 and under. I am not sure about freebies as far as diapers and clothes. Many organizations give things away I think she needs to kinda call around like churches often offer some services. WIC actually gives away this paper that has many numbers for resources.

Check craigslist for cheap and free things. Also look at the freecycle website. I have heard of it but have never checked it out. Call Red cross and see if they have any information. Then you may even want to call some local shelters and see if they might have any advice.

i agee with the other moms about getting on WIC - also, does she have insurance - I would imagine she would qualify for AHCCS so she and the children would have free medical care. I also agree that something legal needs to be in place where the father helps financially.

A good place to shop for inexpensive kids clothing toys is Kid to Kid - they have several stores throughout the valley. I am familar with the Peoria store and really like it. They will also buy clothing/toys that are in decent condition - you can either get cash or store credit. There are a lot of kids consignment and gently used stores throughout Phoenix.

I also know that St. Vincent De Paul is a wonderful source of food, diapers, etc and it is free. They survive off of donations, both financially and items dontated and they are always willing to help families out. They will also assist with rent, utilities etc if this is a hardship case.

Good luck and God bless you for being such a caring friend. God Bless your friend for being such a wonderful mother and taking care of God's earth angels.

As was already mentioned - she should check out freecycle.org.
It's only for offering things for FREE and I've posted all our baby stuff that we no longer needed. We also posted our old stove/oven that still worked fine and it went to a woman who really needed it. I can't stand the thought of perfectly good items ending up in a landfill.

It seems to be a nice community of people who really want to give things to others who will use and appreciate the items.

Hello,

Is the Father of all 7 children paying Child Support? If he's not paying then she needs to get a lawyer! I really don't know of any place that gives out free stuff. She may look at Craig's List to find deals.

You say it's a long story but I think you need to explain to people what is going on and why and not just skip it. I don't understand why she is having more children if she is not with the Father and can't pay for them unless they just got a divorce?

Seven children is a lot to handle and take care of in this day and time. If she is Morman then I am sure the Church will help her, if not she may have to get help from the State.

Good Luck
