We live in the Grant Park area they have a great playgroup here. Also, you can find groups you are interested in, like single parents, on Meetup.com. Churches or the like are good places too. What area of town are you in? And, yes. I am a single mom too!

Check out (maybe calling is best to begin with) local BIBLE-BELIEVING churches to see which ones might have a good single mothers/parents program--a GREAT way to meet & get to know awesome, caring people and become plugged in to a family (no "blood relation" required!) when you may need it most. People who have God's love in their hearts and will share it are the very best people to be around.

Welcome to Atlanta! I was also a single mom when I first moved here, and it was very difficult for me and my daughter to adjust. We came here from Germany, I am former military. The first person I met back then in 1999 was a lady that lived next door and we are still friends today. I would not say I am a very outgoing person, it was just blessing that I met her. The best way for me to meet people back then was through school or church organizations. I have not been out on the town since I got pregnant with my first child and she is almost 10. But, I do get involved with the school functions with other parents and church functions. That's the best (and safest) way for me to meet other parents. I am married now but with my husband always overseas, it is like being a single parent again, this time with three kids instead of one. But close friends help out a lot and make it easier.

I am a single Mom with a 14 year old son and have recently moved to Atlanta also, I have been here for 7 months. I moved here from California, but if I had to do it again knowing what I know now I would have stayed in Calif.
