Have you thought about having a Mary Kay lady come and complete makeovers for the girls? Just a thought.
Hello,
My daughter will turning 13 in a couple of weeks. I am making her a B-Day Sleepover Party in a hotel. I want this to be very special for her. Since all her friends are around the same age I don't want to do anything that seems too too childish. They are teenagers now! Does anyone have any ideas as far to what games or activities to do with the girls? Please help so i can run out and purchase items that I will be in need of. Thanks so much.

My sister just did this for her daughter's 12th. My step-daughter went and they had a GREAT time! 1st of all, the hotel had an indoor pool so they swam as soon as they got to the hotel Then they showered and got dressed. There was a Mexican restraunt next door to the hotel that does karoke on Saturday nights so they had dinner there and sang! When they got back, my sister had a massage therapist to give them all like 20-30 minute massages and my sister and her friend gave them pedicures! Now, my sister has a friend that is a massage therapist so she got a good deal on that, but I bet you could talk to a girl that is still in massage school and get a great rate.(actually, I had a friend who went through massage school and I remember she had to do a specific amount of massages, like an internship, before she got her license. she could accept a tip for each one but not a payment) Anyway, the girls had a blast!
My daughter had a sleepover when she turned 12 (never again!) They played: Dance party (competition),
"makeup" races, with no mirror (which made it more fun) and the one who looks the "best" wins, a small girly prize; they played little memory games, place a bunch of small items in the middle of a table, the first girl starts by introducing the item and passing it on the next girl introduces the item,AS the first girl goes on to introduce the next item and pass it on. The say "This is a ____, the next girl says a what? The first girl says a____ and then the next girl says "O, a ___, then introduces to the next item in line (confusing huh?)Then theres categories: they have a beat, pat(lap), clap, snap with one hand and then the other they continue through the game.
and to the beat they chant "Categories, beat, such as, beat, names of, beat. Each word should be spoken at the
completion of the second snap (people, cities, states, etc), and when someone can't think of a name by the second snap, they are out. Each girl gives there own repsponse.
There's the game M.A.S.H- Mansion, apartment, shack, house
on a big white board or poster write M.A.S.H. at the tope in the middle of a square under the acronym, write a girls favorite number (1-10), on one side of the square, is whothey want their "husband" to be, they name three boys,
on the other side where they are going to live, and at the bottom 3 different numbers-will be how many children they are going to have.
Starting with the M they count all around the square till they get to the the chosen number (favorite num)
they will mark off that item and continue until there is one item left of each category. They will end up with what kind of home they will live, in who they will marry, where they live, and how many children they will have....Hope this helps have fun!!
Hello i just had a old fashion Birthday party for my daughter and we did many activities but one they really enjoyed was i got a sleepover activity book at Target i got one for each child they loved it they are in the card section. good luck! also get some hair spary that's different colors you can get this at party city.. they loved this also.
Not sure if you are in Dallas, but I saw this site when I was looking for ideas for my daughter. If she is in to make up and "spa" days it might be fun. Good Luck!

First, talk to your 12 year old (and 16 year old for advice too...)about what she is expecting to happen at this party. She may have some great ideas.
If the hotel has an indoor pool, that is great because you can swim. Add pizza, movies, and a few activities such as crafts or doing makeovers on each other, games, magazines, etc.
I have a party website that I'm creating, and adding to each day, because throwing parties is my favorite thing to do! Working on adding some kid's stuff at the moment, but I have quite a bit on there about teen parties and slumber parties. You might find something there that you like!
Check it out...

Good luck - as long as you have a good friends together you will have a great time!
A lady that I knew set it up so that her daughter and friends went to the mall close to hotel...She gave the girls a map and told them to follow it to the letter. At each stop, was a activity that she had already paid for(take a pic together at Glamour shots)..pic out matching hair bows at Claires...the final destination ended at jewelry store where she had purchased a beautiful locket for her daughter. After that they went to eat in the hotel restaurant and back to the room to do each others nails and toes...
If it's all girls or mostly girls: movies that have cute boys in them. Twister was always fun for my friends and me. The mall is great and movies. Ask your 16 year old to help you, if that's appropriate and reasonable in your family. If she loves Hannah Montanna (maybe too old, not sure) gather up some DVRs or DVDs and have a tv night. Or anything else like that she might be in to.
At that age I didn't want games at my party. I did the hotel sleepover at 16 (it was great) and we swam in the indoor pool, went to a fun resuarant w/ video games and stuff (kind of like Dave and Busters) (but honestly I would have had a great enough time just ordering in pizza and watching movies in the hotel room). My parents stayed in the suite next door to us and let us alone (but I was a REALLY good kid and so were my friends. My advise- ask your daughter if she wants games and things planned and if she has any ideas. Oh and one idea- there is an AWESOME hotel in Grapevine that has an indoor waterpark- that would take up all of there time, no games needed!
One of my daughter's fondest memories is of a birthday party at a hotel, and they swam in the swimming pool, told ghost stories, and they decorated a pair of flip flops with fabric swatches as a keepsake.
