My DD is 3 3/4 and wears 4T or 5T, depending. My question is...what comes next? I dont seem to see 6T...is there such a thing? I want to get her winter jacket, but would like it to be bigger than 4-5T....

Also, it seems that I am on the cusp of getting out of the baby/toddler section....do I just need to move on over to girls? If so, what are their smallest sizes?

Thanks in Advance,
M:)

What can I do next?

You move over to the girls section. They start out at size 4. You might find that a girls size 4 fits her better than a 5T. I recently had to move my son to boys size for b/c 4T's were too short on him. The boys 4 slim fits him perfectly.

Girls sizes start at 4 usually. Your next move is a size 6 in the girls section. Khols has a great selection of girl clothes.

Yeah the next step is 4-5 in the girls section, my son was in that section at 3yrs old he is now 6-7 boys at 4. You are going to run into pant legs that are a few inches longer then you may want them to be so get your iron out and the iron hem tape if you want to perm hem the pants or just deal with rolling them up, unless she is SUPER tall. My son was 36in tall in the 4-5(xs) boys and had about 1 or 2 inches "extra" on his pants we just rolled them up but it is up to you.

Girls size 4/5 small, or sometimes 4-6x. You get to move up to the big girl department, congrats =) Lots of fun new clothes for the little one and they will probably fit her height better if she is anything like my four year old was, lol. . . no more belly tops and floods like with the toddler stuff. Also you will notice alot of the little girl stuff is basically the same, it just doesn't snap in the crotch and the dresses usually don't come with that matching panty =(

Time to move into the next department! =) Kids' sizes measure differently than toddler sizes, so check out the labels in the kids' department, but she will probably be a size small. You can always try on a few jackets with her in the store to find one that will fit over sweaters and such.

There is a 4 in Girls, but it's not bigger than a 5T. Toddler sizes are supposed to be shorter and stockier than girls sizes, but really everything varies depending on brand. If you have a tall skinny kid, you might be better off switching to girls instead of buying 4T clothes. When my daughter was a 4T, we shopped in both the 4T and the 4 section. After 5T, your child is probably a 6 in girls.

I believe girls sizes start at 6, and work the same way as the toddler sizes until about age 10. You should be able to get a girl's size 6 coat and have it fit for a couple of years!

As I'm sure others have told you, there is no 6T. Time to trot on over to girl section and find something. The biggest difference I noticed is that toddler stuff is made for "baby fat" and diaper wearers, so the regular sizes are cut a bit slimmer. That worked for my kids who were all on the skinny side. Enjoy the change in options!
