LOVE Real3D.
But the movies actually have to be made for them. Meaning, a company can spend a TON on the 3d (take of the glasses and you can't see squat), or they can skimp and there are only tiny bits and pieces that are really 3D and it's just gimicky.
AVATAR (to show an example of phenom 3D) I watched, I forget how many times. 7? 8? 11? A lot.
When it's done well, it's as vibrant and full of depth as real life. You can shift your focus anywhere and it's as clear as day.
When it's done badly, you don't even NEED the glasses and you can still see everything. And you can't focus in any area *except* the little piece they've 3d'd out. :P
IMAX3d I rather despise UNLESS I'm in an actual spherical theatre. On a flatscreen it just gives me a headache, the colors are washy, and there's blur around the edge of the screen. We HAVE a spherical IMAX theatre in town, but we rarely go (a couple times a year at most), so we stick with Real3D.
Soooooooo HAPPY Santa brought us a 3dTV &blueray for xmas! I can't wait to pick up the really well done movies that have come out so I can fall down the rabbit hole with them!
