Any suggestions for how to keep clothes on 21 month old twins who are delighted to remove all of their clothing-during the day and at night in their cribs. Every morning they are down to their diapers. Parents get them dressed during the day and they take them off. Mom is pregnant again and this is getting to her. Help.

For sleeping, I would suggest trying a full-length zippered sleeper, put on completely backward so that they can't reach the zipper.

My kids never did this, because I keep the house really cold in winter. Some kids just do it, though. With the warm days ahead, I'd let them stay in their diapers in the daytimes, if I were you. Maybe if you got some shorts that they really liked, the shorts wouldn't bother their sense of fashion/comfort.

Good luck!

I see no reason why babies can't just be naked. I stay home with my son, and when he wakes up, I strip him down to his diaper to eat, let him run around naked, and we only dress him in clothes if we go somewhere. Occasionally I put shirts on him if it is chilly, but some days he stays naked. I do put a shirt or something on him for naps, and pjs at bedtime just so he wont get cold. He went through a stage of taking off his diaper and peeing everywhere, so I bought a package of onesies. He can't get those off quite so easily, although he can do it. Now that mine is potty training though, he won't pee on the floor, so if he wants to run around without his diaper I let him. I sure do save a lot of time not worrying about laundry, and a lof of frustration of keeping him in clothes. He knows we wear clothes in public, but if you were just stop by my house unexpectedly, chances are he'd be running around naked. This is just not a battle that I choose to fight, or is even on my radar really.

I would just let it go. It isn't hurting anyone. What is the problem. They are at home and luckily they are leaving on their diapers. It is totally normal and everyone I know with kids says "my kids are naked all the time". They all do it . It doesn't seem worth the battle.

Personally I have just allowed kids this little to go sans clothing when they want to. They are uncomfortable and want to be comfortable. This is normal for this age.

As they get closer to 4 I start to ask them to wear at least a certain amount of clothing, they natually become more and more modest over time if you don't fight the whole thing.

I don't have any suggestions since my 18 month old twins are starting to get into that stage. But, I remember reading an article that says this is normal and something that most kids do. It used to drive us crazy when they boys would take their pants off, but now we just smile and let it go. Spring is here, and it's getting warmer so their isn't always a "need" for clothes.

Is there any real reason they HAVE to be clothed? My girls went through this and it frustrated me to tears... I finally gave in and let them be naked, and then I looked back and thought 'what was the big deal anyway?!' Yes, they need to learn to keep their clothes on, but it's not worth the constant battle. I say if there is no immediate reason they have to be dressed (like they're going out, or it's freezing) then I honestly would try not to worry about it too much. This is a phase and it will quickly pass once they get bored with it... at least they're keeping their diapers on! Best wishes!

One of my 24-month-old twins does the same except for taking his clothes off overnight. He only does this at home and has never done it when we are out. It has gone on for months but he is beginning to get over it. As long as it wasn't chilly I just decided to let him be. If it was chilly then I would try to find at least a shirt that he couldn't get off easily but if he did then I just raised the temperature a bit so he wouldn't be cold. It just wasn't worth spending the time redressing him over and over again. If they are at home and content I say just let them be, they'll grow out of it.

I have a 2 year old and a 4 year old and when we are at home 99% of the time they too are naked. Or at least nothing else but panties and a diaper. I have struggled with this as well and had to come to the conclusion that it must be a normal thing and they will grow out of it. And it is perfectly normal come to find out. As long as they are at home I don't make a deal out of it anymore.

This is normal... atleast they are leaving on the diaper. I had 2 kids that would take everything off - even the diaper & man oh man was that a mess. It's just a sign they are getting older & starting to get ready to potty train. It can be a pain, but if it's not to cold out & your not going anywhere - let them run around in a diaper... it won't hurt anything actually it might make less laundy for momma to do - lol.

My son loves to be naked. I finally had to come to the conclusion that he is what he is. He knows that he has to have clothes on to play outside and if he wants to sit with me he has to wear his underpants/pull-ups. We call him "nature boy". Relax and enjoy the ride!

As long as they are warm enough, I would just let it pass. It will and they will find something else to drive Mom nuts.
