Hi Ladies, we are new to Gardner and are needing suggestions on everything from Doctors, baby sitters, to someone to wax my eyebrows. Thanks in advance!
Thanks Ladies for all of the suggestions! We are Methodist so I believe we are going to try out a couple of churches in Olathe. What about Dentist and Optomitrists? Also, does the Olathe Medical Center have OBGYN's? If so, who do you suggest? I really hate leaving my lady I had before :( My daughter is 16 months and didn't know if you knew of a Mom's day out or something like that?
My family and I moved to Gardner almost 4 years ago now. We have found an awesome doctors office, Gardner Family Care, ###-###-####, its on center street. I goto Fantastic Sams to have my eyebrows done, they do a great job, Babysitters depends on the age group, if your kids are in elementary school, they have before and after school programs through JCPRD, great program! I don't wax my brows, but as for a hairdresser, I really like Stephanie McDaniel at Main Street Salon across from the Chapala restaurant on Main street. I have also gone to Gail at Fantastic Sams and really like her. I doctor with a family practice doctor at Olathe Family Physicians, she cares for me and my daughter and will soon care for my new baby girl also. Her name is Casey Tramp and she is great, really personable. Daycare Connection is a great resource to find licenced daycares in the area, they are listed online or in the phone book. They keep lists of currently licensed daycare providers that have openings in your area. If you are also looking for a churhc home, I attend King of Kings Luthern Church and they are a great, small church home that is very kid friendly (espeicially the 10:30 service). They also have a daycare/preschool associated with them that I take my daughter to and she loves it. Good luck and let me know if you have any other questions. I don't do my eyebrows but would like to start doing them so may check out some of the advice you've gotten. We lived in Gardner for 15 years and have gone to College Park Family care which has numerous locations, one closest to Gardner would be Olathe on Ridgeview and 151st area. There is also one not too far on 7 highway. We like them very much.
Most things, like hair cut, I go to Olathe or Overland Park for.
Arbor Creek Dental in South Olathe 159th and Murlen (10 minute drive from Gardner) Friends with hygienist and dentist.
Dr. Bruce Snider OBGYN-Olathe Woman's Care. Awesome! Very even keel. Compassionate. Only one other partner, and a nurse prac.

Hi D.! Welcome to Gardner. We have been here about two and a half years and we love it. I used to get my eyebrows waxed at Fantastic Sams and they did a great job. We had to trim our budget a little last year and I learned how to do them myself or I would still be going there. I get my hair cut at the new Great Clips over by Walmart and they do a great job. I would highly recommend againgst Gardner Family Care. One of their Drs. ignored some test results for my son when he was first born and he almost died. We only found out he was in danger because someone from Olathe Medical Center called us. When I tried to (calmly) confront the dr. in Gardner about it he hung up on me and wouldn't return any of the messages I left him. Olathe Family Practice and Olathe Family Physicians are both good office. We go the Sacred Heart Catholic Church if you are looking for a place of worship. Father Joe is amazing and loves kids. He hands out suckers at the beginning of Mass and encourages parents to let their kids play and talk during service so they think of church as fun. If you have any more questions please e-mail me.
