We are needing to find a new place to live once our lease is up in June. We are currently in an apartment complex and are having WAY too many issues with upstairs neighbors and management, so would love to find a place to live that was locally owned. We used to live in Tucson, and it was really easy to find affordable housing with a local owner. We really want to rent a house/townhouse/condo, but are on a limited budget. Does anyone know where to look for this type of housing where you can actually know the owner of the rental property? We would buy, but don't plan on living in Phoenix for that long (up to 3 years-all dependent on jobs). I've also been scouring the Craig's List ad, but almost everything is a large apartment complex or way out of our price range. Plus, it is so far in advance, so no one will even e-mail us back (I'm due in May, so have to find something way before then).We want to find a place we can call home until we make our big move, and we just know it will be SO much easier if we actually know the owners. Hi Megyn. First off- congratulations on your new addition to the family...how exciting! I can't imagine expecting a little one and having to move...yikes! I am a Realtor myself and have two rental properties. I was unable to know if they met your needs, as I don't know how many bedrooms you are in need of, what area you are trying to stay in, or your max price. My husband & I drove around the neighborhoods we were interested in living in. We would look for Lease or Rental signs, then we would write down the information & call about it when we got home. that is how we found our house & we are prefectly happy. I did look on Craigs list but it helped us driving around & seeing the front of the houses in person.
