Washing dish towels with bath towels?

Out of curoisity, do you wash dish towels with bath towels? My husband and I disagree with this. I know they all supposedly come out clean in the end, but I don't want random hairs on my dish cloths. What's your protocol? Not a life and death question by any means, but just curious ;) Thanks!

I do... I've never noticed hair on any of the towels... doesn't everything like that get caught in the lint trap?

I wash them together. I have never noticed hair on my kitchen towels either.

Yes, I do. I don't have any problems with hair, and I also own 3 dogs - I think a good dryer will collect everything in the lint trap.

All of my bath and dish towels go in the same load. I have a steam washer, so I put them in the Sanitize cycle. I have never had any problems with hair on my dish towels! =)

Haven't ever thought of this before. Everything seems to come out so clean that I have also washed all towels together.

Wash 'em together!!! Never had a problem!!!

I wash them together, but it's funny, when I read your question, I would have thought you'd be worried about all the yucky cleaning stuff on your bath towels, not the other way around! So yeah, dirt is dirt, and they call come out clean.

we wash all together :)

Apparently it's you and me against the world! I do not wash them together, not because of the hair (although now it'll bug me) but because we use rags instead of papertowels and the thought of any grease or oil getting on my bath towels grosses me out.

I don't wash them together and if for some reason a dish towel gets in with the bath towels then it becomes a bath towel. I think it is gross to wash them together. I agree I don't want any hairs of any kind on my dish cloths and honestly I usually dry what few dishes I do by hand with paper towels.

Never wash them together, seems yucky to me!!

Towels are towels.
They go in together on HOT.
Sorry.

And you don't think some of the things your kitchen towels seem are yucky? Just asking.

I guess if you hang dry your towels there is a possibility of a hair on a dish towel. But our washer and dryer does not leave hair on any of our laundry.

We wash them together. what do you wash your dishtowels with ? Clothing? Underpants, pants, shirts, sheets? They all have the potential for hair and skin.

No, I don't wash them together either, I also wash sucks alone because washing them with anything else seems yucky to me.
I wash the baby clothes separate too because she has delicate skin and I use special soap on hers.
I spend a lot of time doing laundry ;0(

Wash them together on hot. Don't waste time, water, and detergent doing separate loads. Washing and drying removes all the "yucky" stuff, it doesn't just move it around from one towel to another.

NO!!!!!! I do not but my husband DOES!!!!!! My parents always separated so I do, with no good reason. Really people who say it all comes out clean are kidding themselves. It doesn't. But should that stop you from washing together? NO!! I use cloth diapers and wash poop out with one load and then wash clothes with the next and then towels with the next, ask your hubbies who watch Mythbusters, whatever food and fecal, and cleaning particles are in your clothes and towels in one load stays (in little amounts) in your machine to pass on to the next load! YAY!!! It is a happy party in there! (I'm in Yo Gabba Gabba mode right now) I will regularly run an empty load with bleach thru my machine since I do cloth diapers, but has anyone gotten sick? No. We (as a culture) are just super sensitive about the appearence of cleanliness. It is okay. We will live and thrive either way!

PS. My husband just said, "If it smells good and you don't see s#*t then it doesn't matter!"

I wash all the towels together. It just seems completely wasteful to do it separately. And if you wash them on hot AND with pinesol they're completely disinfected.. and ALWAYS put them in the dryer or else there may be some stuff on them.

a towel is a towel wash them together saves time and money

so funny you asked this. i used to separate eeeeeverything, i was obsessive about it...dark clothes, light clothes, red clothes, hubbys socks, underwear, his clothes, my own clothes, floor towels, hand towels, bath towels, bedding, and certainly the babys stuff, each had separate loads. i dont even use dish towels, i think theyre gross, no offense, i invest a small fortune in paper towels.... now, i have 3 kids, 4 if you include hubby :) and my laundry has taken on a life of its own. i throw absolutely everything in together except for new darks/reds and hubbys socks and underwear. i wash on hot and rewash some loads if they seem like i should. i could easily do 2 loads a day every day and not be caught up ever. i dont even buy things that need to be ironed, and very rarely buy anything that cant be thrown in the dryer if i can possibly help it. im sitting amongst 4 loads folded all over my couch right now...sigh....
