Vote on the spelling for this name! Please!!

My 2nd little girl is due in November and I need some help deciding on how to spell her name!

Her name is defiantly going to be Kali (Like Cali(fornia)) But I love the way I have it spelled now...Kalleigh. My mom on the other hand has a different opinion. She like it with one L (Kaleigh) See, I dont want her going through her whole life with people calling her Kay(lee) instead of Kalleigh. You can pronounce it either way...

So, with that in mind...Let's vote!

Kalleigh
Kaleigh

Or any other suggestions (not too common) will be appreciated!

Thanks!
Britney

I like the 2 LL's, your first name listed.

Kalleigh, though people will probably still say Kaylee. I love the name! Very pretty

Unfortunately, it does not matter how you speel her name, someone will still mispernounce it. My choice would be Kalleigh.

My daughter's best friend is named Kallie. No one ever calls her Kay Lee. I vote for two ll's whatever way you spell it.

2 ll's it is for me! :)

I vote for 2 ll's. Spell it however you want to spell it is your daughter. My parent's weren't thrilled with the names I picked for both of my kids (Donovan and Makena), but now that they are here their names fit them.

2 L's gets my vote too! When I look at it spelled both ways I think I would pronounce it Kaylee if I only saw one L. Make sense?? Good luck, I know moms are hard to convince, you should of heard the comments when we named our oldest Haylee, and did not spelly it Haley like they thought we schould...they got over it thought, and I love it! ~Amber~

I like Kalleigh as well.

Me and mom had the same argument over the spelling of my daughters name, Addysen, my mom like Addison (like the city), and I said no way. Although addysen has become a popular name I have yet to see anyone spell it the way we did.

You go with what you like she'll get over it...Mine did!!!

I like the 2 LL's HOWEVER, bear in mind she will always get called Kaylee with that spelling. I think it's great that you want a different name. Just bear in mind your DAUGHTER, not you, has to live with it for the rest of her life. I find it extremely annoying to constantly spell my name correctly (EY, not just Y) and I can't imagine how much more annoying it would be to have to correct the pronunciation too. I think if you really want her to be Kali you should spell it Kali. When I see either of your spellings I automatically think Kaylee.

I like one L but that's just me.

One L looks better.

Why not...Kaly, Kally, Callie, Kallie, Cally?

Either way, people will always put their spin on it and mispronounce it. My name is mispronounced on a regular basis.

Spell it how YOU want. No matter what anyone else thinks.

Kalleigh looks more like it would be pronounced Callie. Other possible spellings could be:

Callie
Callee
Cally
Kallie
Kally

My son's name is Trenon and NO ONE ever gets it right. The closest they get is Trennon or Trinon. Oh well! My name is Brandi and was VERY popular in the 70s and no one spells mine right either! I guess unless you go with Ann, Jill, or Sue no one will ever say or spell the name correctly anyway! lol

Best luck with your new bundle of joy!

I like the two L. It make it more unique. People put their own spin on it no matter what your name is.

I agree with your Mom. One L looks prettier with eigh at the end!
I think you will have mispronounciations and misspellings with either one so go with whichever one YOU like.

Other interesting ways to spell it: Khalee,Khallie,Kallee...
Kallie/Callie are the most obvious ways to spell it and even tho its a "common spelling", it is not a common name. So if pronounciation is your biggest concern, I'd go with the easiest spelling.

I have a friend named Danielle. She is forever having to say "double ll" when someone writes her name whether it be for a government form or just a simple restuarant reservation.
Unique spellings are great until the child grows up and finds themself spelling their name for people 100 times a day. You would think Alexandra is a pretty easy name to spell yet I have to correct people all the time. For some odd reason, they always want to spell it Alexander. Do I look like a boy?!?? LOL.

The name you chose is pretty. I vote one L.

I agree with YOUR WAY!!! I would pronounce the one L like Kaylee. Keep the 2 L's!!! :) And I love the leigh at the end!!!

I like Kallie, as noted below a few times. Good luck!

To be fair I have not looked at the other votes, but like the Kali spelling. I wanted that for our daughter but my DH likes traditional names so that one was not even considered. Oh well.

Jule S.

My neices name is Kallie. But, out of your 2 spellings, I like it with only 1 L.

Why punish your child for life with off-spellings of common names. Imaging every year for the rest of your childs life at school correcting the teacher because YOU had to be different and make up some random pronunciation of a normal name.
