My husband and I are trying to find some cool things to do for families for Mother's Day in and around Minneapolis area. Does anybody have any suggestions of where to go with a 2 year old. Thanks for your help.
You'll probably have to find something indoors as it looks like we are going to have rain all weekend. Mother's Day is also my b-day, and we usually go up north fishing, but this year we have a lot going on that we need to stay in town. Since you are pregnant, I would suggest going swimming! That always felt awesome to me to get in the water and just feel weightless for awhile. Go to the "Y", or a community indoor pool. You could also go out for ice cream! DQ, Coldstone, or TCBY! What two year old wouldn't love that! Or you could go to a nursery and pick out pretty flowers to plant in your garden together. My kids love being able to pick the ones that go in the planter boxes each year. Most of my other ideas you probably would not enjoy as you are pregnant, but maybe this will help you get your day started! Happy Mother's Day!
Hi,
I heard that it's the first weekend of the farmer's market in Mpls--that's always so much fun! Lots of good samples, music, and fun stuff to buy.
My favorite Mother's Day was last year when my husband and our (at the time) 2 1/2 year old daughter went to Nerstrand State Park (right near Northfield-about 45 mile drive from MPLS). This is the best time to go as all the spring flowers there are blooming. We packed a lunch and ate by a small waterfall. The terrain is very flat with safe, wide trails that were perfect for an often-tripping, falling 2 1/2 year old. I'm so sad that my husband has to work this Mother's Day otherwise I'd want to go back there. (Maybe my daughter and I will on our own)
We love Como Zoo & Conservatory -- if it's a nice day!
