I am searching for any kind of support group in my local area (drexel hill, pa)for separated/divorced mothers.
Hi, Debbie! I am also a single parent in the Drexel Hill area and am curious to hear what others may suggest. One group, Parents Without Partners has been around FOREVER! But, the Delaware County Group seems to be of an "older" generation. Which is great for them! But, I'm in my mid-30's and am always trying to find those in the same "station" in life. A website that you might want to check out is SingleParentMeet or SingleParentMatch. I can't remember. It will end with .com. I met some friends, of the "male pursuasion" there. Nothing of a huge romantic hit, but friends nonetheless. Good luck and as I said, I'll be seeing what others suggest b/c I haven't much luck finding a group like this.....
Hi Debbie. I too am a single mom and I have learned to enjoy my alone time. I still miss her when she isn't there. In the last year I have read some really great books. Spent alot of time with my sisters and my girlfriends. You have to enjoy being able to go out with the girls, or on a date without having to get a babysitter. It does take time to feel this way but you will. Enjoy yourself do things you like and have wanted to do, plan trips with your friends. I told my friends how I felt alone and you will be surprised how people will open themselves and their time to help you through this. Good luck it will get easier.
