Seeking playgroups in Racine or Milwaukee Co

I'm looking for activities for my 3 year old son...either playgroups, gyms, sports for toddlers...anything that would get him involved with playing with other kids his age. I've heard the YMCA is a good choice, but I've also heard that they can be pretty expensive. Does anyone know of a place that they have taken their child to and have been happy with the program? I basically want to get my son out of the house and around other children his age before he starts school. Thank you!

I had my 3 year old son involved in several of the programs at the YMCA on College Ave in Cudahy and he loved it! The Y can be kind of expensive but they have financial assistance so your membership fee is sliding scale. If you make less than 70,000 per year you qualify for some level of assistance. Also if you had nobody else in your family who would use the Y you could get a membership for your son only which would probably cost only 20something a month. They have many programs for kids your son's age such as Wiggles&Giggles and preschool classes that are FREE with membership. So you don't pay any extra above the membership fee. Many churches have MOPS programs-Mothers of Preschoolers. Grace church in Racine on highway 31 has this once or twice a month on thursdays. Hope this helps!
