I have a 7 month old boy and will be starting work part-time come 2008. I am looking for a part-time daycare solution (maybe 2-3 days per week, 9-3pm each day)? Any thoughts??
Tracey, i was fortunate enough to find a really awesome daycare for my daughter that allowed me to pay by the day (at the same rate as I would be paying if I paid by the week) unfortunately the daycare is on the west bank so it may not be all that conveniant for you. I know that day cares like that can be hard to find BUT just start going through the phone book and calling... tell them you're looking for a daycare that you can pay only for the days he actually goes and not by the week....get a few together that offer this option and then drop in to check the places out. It's best to drop in unannounced so that they can't "prepare" for your visit...you can see how clean they keep the place, what the kids are doing, etc... you may, however, want to ask when nap time is (dropping in when the kiddos are sleeping kinda defeats the purpose).

There is a agency called Agenda for Children and the number is 504-586-8509 Ext 123, that gives you referrals for child care depending on what you are looking for. I called today and the lady was very helpful. I already have three centers that i am interested in sending my daughter to.
