I am in need of care part time 2-3 days a week ,during the day, 8-4pm. I have 2 kids but I only need care for my 1 year old. If anyone has any suggestions , Please send them my way. I would greatly appreciate it.
Melissa,
I just found out about Nannies4hire.com. It is like Craigs list (I guess) but just for people who are looking to babysit and families that need sitters/nannies, whatever. There is a cost to join (like $140 for 30 days, but you get full access to the nannies). We went ahead and paid, and I just hired a part time "nannie" (that sounds so weird to me!) for one day a week. You will have to interview and check them out on your own, but that wasn't a problem for us. Good luck!
You can check the registered and licensed in home daycare providers through the DCF FL website. It will list which ones are available in your area and provide part time care.
You can also check into a Mom's Day Out program. I was just posting about it on another mother's request. I have a friend who does this twice a week for her daughter who is 18 months old. It is inexpensive and convenient and her daughter enjoys the interaction with the other kids.
My neighbor who has an in-home daycare just called me today to get the word out to my mom's clubs. She is a former nurse who has a daycare. Recently, a few long term clients have moved, so she has openings. She doesn't advertise-- just word of mouth. Her name is Josephine 407-365-3482..........we live on the Oviedo Golf Course -- Country Club Estates......it is about 15? min. from Orlando (not during rush hour though). I drive to Orlando a lot.
