I am looking for a good marriage counselor that won't charge an arm and a leg. My husband is currently unemployed, so money is tight. I'd be interested in counseling just for myself and for both of us....any suggestions would help! We've never gone before and I don't have any friends or family that have gone. I don't want to go to just anyone, a referral would be nice. Thank you for any help you can offer!

I can only speak wonderful loving words about our therapist, Michelle Bohls. Look her up under www.networktherapy.com/Michelle
Best of luck!
Hi Rachel,
I have the answer...Capital Area Mental Health Center. It is a volunteer organization for low cost mental health services. they work on a sliding scale, $10-$50 a session. If you make less than $1200 a month it is $10. My husband and I have been going for about a month and have found it very helpful. Jill Brennar has been a great therapist. The number is 512-302-1000. Good Luck to you.

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and though I work full time for an agency, I also do some private practice work. I would be happy to have a conversation with you on the phone about this and if I am not the right fit, then I have other referrals for you.
Good luck,

P.S. Capital Area Mental Health is a good option, but due to the fact that it is a volunteer staff (mainly students), the turn over is very high and you might get shuffled to various therapists.
Raquel~

Good luck :)
If you belong to a good church, don't underestimate the power of sitting down to talk with your pastor. Good luck!
