Schwans

Any pro's or cons to Schwans? My daughter's preschool has been selling Schwans since school started and I was thinking of getting some food from them but don't know anyone who has ever had their food, is it good? What do your think of the pricing? Any recommendations on a certain food that you like best?

it is very pricey. the salmon stuffed with crab is excellent as are the cheese biscuits and pierogies.

You get what you pay for for the price and quality. I used to buy quite a bit but that was when the kids were home. I have always liked the quality of the food and many items. My favorite is the individual vegetable lazana.

Just look and try something that does not break the bank and enjoy it. If it does not fit into your budget then don't continue to order items.

I do love the ice cream but I don't need it so I don't buy it. The veggies are great and some of the mixed fruits are good.

The upside to Schwan's food is that it is designed to be healthy for what it is. There are tons of highly healthy foods to choose from. The things that are high in calories are still made of quality food and they put a lot of research into their foods. They catch the fish in waters that are known to have little to no mercury. If I'm speaking like an employee/sales person...I used to be a driver/sales person for them.

They also create everything in their catalog to be easy to prepare. It's nearly as expensive as going to a very nice restaurant. But it's convenient. So if you look at it like a treat you can have in the freezer for when life gets busy, you are fine. Put aside the $'s that you can afford and decide how often you will eat it. Unless you are wealthy, you can't live on it! :)

it is pricey. the only things we like are the ice cream and green bean fries.

The food isn't bad at all, but it's expensive. Other than treating ourselves every now and then, it was a bit high for me as a single mom on a budget.
We did like splurging on the ice cream type things.
It's also kind of nice that the food comes to you.

Best wishes.

The cream cheese stuffed pretzels might as well be crack. I LOVE them. Love isn't even accurate. I crave them. I have to limit myself or I could eat the whole bag.

Crack. I tell you. Crack.

Ok, seriously. I love Schwans. Yes, it is a bit pricey - but it's convenience food - all convenience food is more expensive than if you grow it, kill it and cook it yourself. But, if I am going to spend $5.00 per person I would rather do a schwans meal than fast food and you can get it to the table almost as quickly.

I love schwans and they accept food stamps too.
The onion rings are good. The frozen veggies are really good.
My kids like the chicken. It is expensive but very easy to cook.
I like the apply cinnomon frenc toast sticks. Yum
