I am beginning my search for parent participation preschools in the San Jose area for my 2 year old son. I haven't heard a lot about any of them but was hoping I could get some feedback from any of you. One that I have heard a little about is Explorer. I would appreciate any information about that one and any others that you are familiar with. Thanks!
There is Kindercare. Its a great preschool. Their website is http://www.kindercare.com/. My son went there when he was little and loved it.
Hi Stacey,
I do not know of any in the San Jose area but Stanford University has an excellent pre-school - Rainbow School which is a parent participation program that accepts out side students (parents need not be working/studying at Stanford)
If I find out more will let you know.

East Hills Preschool on Story Rd in San Jose, is a great school! My oldest child went there 2 years ago, and had a wonderful experience!
My son is now in 9th grade, but he started out at Play and Lean Preschool on the corner of Capital and Narvez in South San Jose. I was impressed with their school and the love and attention they brought to the students at the school. Also they brought in a person to help the kids learn about the proper use of a computer and it helped him as he got older because he had the foundation of how to use a computer.

you can do a search for child care places at www.4c.org
it is the child care referral service for santa clara county. in your search options, you can specify city and that you want a co-op (parent participation). you need to create an account to do an online search of the child care places in 4c.org.
or you can look at www.naeyc.org, search for naeyc accredited places (find "families" in the left hand menu, and you should be able to find some kind of search function). i highly suggest a naeyc accredited place, after looking at various options. the places should be obvious by the name of the school "parent preschool", "co-op nursery", etc.
