I need some suggestions on how to get truck grease out of my husband's clothes. He drives a semi and has recently got a new truck and now has grease on his clothes. I am not sure how to get the grease out. Please send suggestions.
Hi, I remember my mom using crisco solid shorting on my dad's clothes to get the grease out. She just smired it on the grease and washed it in hot water. Hope it works for you.
I put Dawn dishwashing detergent on my grease stains before tossing the clothes into the washer.
Dawn dish detergent works really good. Just spot treat the grease stains with Dawn and wash as normal. Good luck!
Hi Angela, I use Shaklee laundry products. My husband is an electrician and does remodeling , and his work clothes are very dirty. I know grease is a hard one -- but I have had success with that too. Angela, Have you tried the Lestoil product ? You pour it directly on the spot, or 1/4 cup in the washtub. Sometimes it pays to let the stain soak with the lestoil on it , first. Give it a try , if haven't already. Carolyn
i use dawn dish soap on grease or anything that stains and dawn gets it all out. my husband drove truck too and dawn brought the grease out.
My mom always told me to use Lestoil on greasy stains and I finally tried it a couple of months ago on a stained sweatshirt that I had washed numerous times. It was as good as new when I took it out of the dryer! Put Lestoil directly on the stain and rub just a little. Let it sit for just a little while and then wash as usual. Don't let it dry before washing.

Try Dawn dishwashing liquid, full strength, directly on the area. If that doesn't get it, try Goop or Lava. It's what mechanics use to get the grease off their hands.
I use Prespot and then laundry detergent by Melaleuca. It uses all natural enzymes and tea tree oil to clean clothes, and it can get anything out. You can email me personally if you need help finding out how to get it.
I agree the melaluca stuff works well they also sell a spot remver that is great!! but as for quick to get and cheap, we have use Coke just pour a can of coke in and do the rest as normal. it is gross to think that is what we drink and it will also remove grease but it does work!!
I just asked a question about greasy stains too. People recommended Lestoil, Iron Out, and Dawn dishwashing detergent.

Also, you might try applying some cheap shampoo to the clothing spots before you wash in hot water.
These will probably do the trick for you.
go to the local car parts store. Purchase a hand degreaser. There are several that work great and I have used them to remove motor oil from jeans and work shirts. Read that label and make sure they are safe for fabrics.
We like to use GREASED LIGHTING it works great for that and other laundry stains. It is a great all around cleaner and it is inexpensive.
Lestoil...it's an all purpose cleaner/degreaser...you can find it at Walmart or grocey stores, etc. Put it on grease stains full strength and wash as usual. Sometimes I rinse the load twice to get the cleaner smell out if I use alot! Works wonders...even on old grease stains!!! Good luck!
Hi Angela! My hubby is also a truck driver. We usually put some dawn dish soap in with the laundary. It's got that grease cutting agent in it that works wonders on dishes. Not too much though or you'll be over-run by bubbles. Good luck!
Try rubbing Dawn dish detergent on it. I use hair shampoo on cooking grease but think dawn will work better for your situation, after all they used dawn to wash the birds after oil spills and it worked.
