Hello moms! I have recently bought jars of organic milk from Straus Family Creamery, one raw whole milk and one 2% milk fat; I find that we are not used to drinking milk so creamy, so they are just sitting in the fridge. I hate to leave them to waste, so does anyone have any recipes of soups or stews that could utilize these milk to share with me? Thank you!
How about making yogurt, ice cream, pancakes or french toast. You can freeze it in ice cube trays and then store in a freezer ziploc to be added to potato soup and the like as needed.
There are endless recipes with milk.
One of my favorites are smoothies (I add 1/2 banana, organic milk, organic plain yogurt, frozen strawberries, frozen cherries, frozen blueberries and with mine I add whey). My kid LOVES these! And you can mix whatever fruits you want to. :)
You can add a little milk into your scrambled eggs.
If you prefer to use milk as to water for instant hot chocolate and same for oatmeal
Like Ian suggested: pancakes (I have yet to attempt these the healthy way as to the premade powder but I will soon, just a matter of using up what we have!)
French toast is good with the organic milk too. :)
boil potatoes, drain water, smish up (I use a fork..but there is a smisher thing too) then add milk, butter, black pepper, dried parsley flakes, garlic powder and shred some mozzerella cheese and add it to that as well. You wont even miss the salt!
The organic milk takes some getting used to be at least for me, I couldnt handle any diary in the morning and since I switched to all organic dairy, I can have anything dairy I want! Just tried one brand though "Organics" is what I have. I stick with 2% mostly since I have a kiddo (do buy whole on occassion just depends on whats available since im on an isolated island)
