My son just turned 3 and I am starting my search for a preschool. I know there is sunbeam and rainbows and button and bows but i don't find a lot of information about them online. How do I learn more about the programs, do I have to call or go to a specific place? He is in a home daycare 3 days a week right now that is wonderful but I want to give him another experience of having to follow directions and socializing in a larger setting. If anyone has information on how to find out about the preschool programs in Elmhurst that would be great. I'm new to Mamapedia and I am very excited that I discovered it, I wish I had a lot earlier. I would appreiciate any help you can give. Thanks, Lisa
My friend's children went to Elmhurst Academy and she loved it. I think you should tour a few different places to get a real feel for their atmosphere and ask your questions.
Both my kids have been to Sunbeams and Rainbows (my daughter is finishing up 4 year preschool now) - it is a great program. My daughter also went to 2 year old preschool at Buttons and Bows but I personally think Sunbeams and Rainbows has a better program. Buttons and Bows tends to fluff up things (more fancy crafts and less learning IMO) and I've heard that from some moms who have had their kids at buttons and bows. Its still a wonderful preschool, I just preferred Sunbeams and Rainbows.
Good luck.
My daughter goes to St. Alexander in Villa Park (one town over) and LOVES it. She also was in home daycare three days a week and St. A's offers both half day and full days for 3 and 4 year olds. Here is some information: http://www.stalexanderschool.org/Academic/st-alexander-catholic-school-preschool-overview. Good luck!
