private swim lesson in Coppell or Carrollton

I'm looking for private,or small group swim lessons for my 20 month old son. I would like it to be at someone's house. OR, If you have taken mommy & me lessons at the Coppell YMCA or aquatics center and had a good experience.

Amy,
My children took group lessons at the Carrollton Rec Center off of Rosemeade and Old Denton several summers ago. They had really great teachers. My friend who sent her children (about the same age as mine) to swim lessons at Emler was amazed at how much my kids learned compared to her kids. The prices are very reasonable. Not sure if they do mommy and me lessons, but I think it would be worth it to check.
Good luck!

Try www.lonestarswimschool.com. I listed the same question recently on mamasource and got some good replies about this location/swim lessons location. Classes are with just two kids at one time for 30 minutes and quite reasonable. I live in Coppell was looking for that semi-private type of class also but had not heard anyting good/bad about the acquatic center in coppell -although they do offer classes for just $35 a session. I am registered for this summer at the lonestarswimschool and three of my girlfriends are also. Lonestarswim charges $50/session. (M-TH for 30 minutes each day). Check out my other post and you will be able to read the feedback given to me.

Hi Amy,

Last summer I did the Mommy and Me classes at the Coppell Y and they were good. It was 2 weeks and it seemed like most of the kids and parents enjoyed it. However, I'm not a big fan of Mommy and Me swimming - so I did semi private lessons the rest of the summer to give my son more time to actually learn. The Y is focused on getting kids comfortable with the water and if you want him to get actual practice and skills, I think the private or semi private lessons are the way to go. I've heard many people recommend Aquakids (Flower Mound) which is kind of close to you.

Lonestar swim school says they work with kids 2 and above. But, since your son is so close to 2, they may be able to help you out.

Good luck! Let us know what you end up doing!

In Carrollton, call Stacie Marshall @ 972-242-5432. She gives private and small group lessons in a home.

I actually took private swim lessons myself 2 years ago at the Coppell YMCA and had a great experience. During my private lessons the swim classes for small children were being held also. It looked as if they were well done. All the staff that I had any dealings with seemed very professional and proficient.

We took the parent & me class (or whatever it is called) at the Coppell YMCA a couple of years ago. It wasn't really swim lessons but it was a good intro to the water at that age. My daughter enjoyed it. I am planning to do the same for our younger daughter (2) this summer.
