Hi, I am in need of a good pediatric dentist. My son is turning 3 in September and I need to locate a dentist in the Venice/Osprey area. We have recently relocated to Venice, FL from Tampa, FL and do not have a local dentist any longer. If you can refer me to someone who works well with children, I would really appreciate it.

If you'd be willing to travel to Sarasota, and I HIGHLY recommend the trip, I would definitely recommend Silas McAninch. My 4-year old has seen "Dr. Mac" 4 times for checkups and a cavity fill. He LOVES him. He is kind, gentle, makes the kids and parents feel comfortable, the cost is good (except that they don't accept insurance). I have NO complaints and have referred many there and have many friends who take their kids to him. He, as you can probably tell from my rave reviews, is the most outstanding kids dentist I've ever seen. We drive from North Port because he's so good. We're moving to Atlanta in April and I intend to bring my kids to Sarasota twice a year just to see him. My son has special needs and finding a dentist who could accomodate right off the bat was a miracle for us. Good luck and best wishes!
