Hi, Stacy! Do you happen to have a Whole Foods Market near you? I work in the bakery at WFM in Pittsburgh, and we have a treat that we get in from an outside source, specifically for school treats. They nut free. I don't remember what the name of it is, but I'm sure they have it there. I do know there is a cute little cartoon owl on the box. This may be a good solution for you if you can't find anything to make.
Pumpkin muffins wouldn't have nuts would they.
Same with cupcakes, right? or Sugar cookies. just becareful of the decorations.
I'm not even sure that chocolate chip cookies wouldn't be ok.You could check the bag of chips and see if they process in a plant that does nuts.
Pudding cups? Icecream cups or popsicle things? What about a Fruit Salad?? cheese sticks, or buy blocks of cheese and cut them into cool shapes.
Sliced Apples and provide carmel dip or yogurt fruit dip just check the carmel dip.
Good luck!
Jello with Cool Whip? Sugar cookies? Fruit cups? Graham crackers? Pretzel rods with chocolate & sprinkles?
My friend has a son with severe nut allergies and I've seen him eat double chocolate brownies -- as long as they are nut free.
Couldn't you make rice krispy treats for both classes?
Could you take in some fruit? Or cheese and crackers?
Jello Jigglers...recipe on box. You can use cookie cutters to make different shapes, maybe 'birthday-related'.
I saw someone said to make rice krispie treats for both classes, but I wouldn't make it for either class. Most marshmellows contain egg. Believe it or not, you have to buy specially made marshmellows that are egg free, you can find them online, but I would just make something else. Please, please do not make rice krispie treats with marshmellows for the class with the egg allergy. You will cause the child to have a reaction. Rice krispies may be safe for the peanut/treenut allergic kid if all the ingredients are not made anywhere near peanut/treenuts. My daughter is allergic to egg, peanut and treenuts, so I am pretty familiar with what is and isn't okay. I hope this helps and I hope you read this in time to not make them for the egg allergic class.
Look up some recipes for vegan cookies. I had a coworker whose son is allergic to dairy, peanuts, everything. Another coworker looked up recipe for vegan cookies with some kind of frosting on top. I tried a few when she brought them to work and I gave one to my son. They were delicious.
There is a child in my daughters class with a peanut allergy. I figured hot chocolate would be ok as one of my "peanut free" homeroom mom treats. The mother saw me place it on the table and rushed over to take it away. It supposedly could have something in it that is dangerous to him?
I tell you this because now i feel the best thing to do is alert the teacher. I think only the parent will know exactly what they can have. I am sure they are used to having to bring in a special safe treat for their child.
I have decided to make jello jigglers out of a pumpkin mold. There are only 7 kids in the class so it will be very easy.
Thank you everyone who read and helped out…
