P90x

Hi all! I will be starting P90X sometime this week, for anyone that has done this, what I can expect?

Thanks so much!

you probably won't be able to copy the DVD. It is protected and copyrighted =( I'v seen those commercials on tv too, it looks really intense. I wish I could afford it, Im sure it works if you stick to it! Maybe you could go to your friends house and do the routines together, it makes you less likely to try to skip a workout if you know someone else is counting on you to be there at a certain time =) Good luck!!!

I just bought the p90x on Craigsist...brand new still in the wrap for $60. Might be something to consider if you can't copy it. I don't have any answers to your other questions since I just attempted it for the first time today.

AWESOME AWESOME AWESOME... I'm on week 7 right now and HIGHLY recommend it... I've always been a workout person.. I'm doing it to change up my workouts because I'm bored with my old one..I don't need to loose any weight but just wanted to tone up more... It's a brutal workout!!!! If your not a workout person to begin with, take it easy because it's brutal... There are 3 different programs for the P90X.. doubles, lean and normal.... I'm doing the normal one.. Make sure when it's burned that you get the papers to keep track on how much better/stronger your getting...
My DVD's are burned but don't know how they did it..
I eat: (I'm boring also, lol)
breakfast:
plain oatmeal with equal in it
snack:
protein bar:
lunch:
avocado with cheese, tomato, spinach lettuce on whole wheat toast and dip it in extra virgin olive oil
snack:
apple with peanut butter
dinner:
egg whites or turkey burger or grilled chicken with sweet potato, edamames,
snack:
another apple with peanut butter

I wasn't really trying to loose weight so I'm not super strict on the diet part.. I'm in pretty good shape as it is so I just maintain basically...

p90x will try to get you to buy there protein bars and recovery drink.. Don't waste your money.. You can go to GNC and buy Accelerade powder and put it in your water as your recovery drink (it's the same thing just not by p90x)...

The hardest part of p90x is the INTENSE plyometrics cardio workout. It's GREAT though.... You will see how much stronger you will become after doing it... you HAVE to stick with it though, don't get discouraged if you can't keep up right away or finish the videos at first....

I HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY recommend it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This is surely copyrighted material, and if so, it is illegal to copy it. I hope people will admit that taking copyrighted material is harming whoever invested time and money and creativity in producing that material. They may have been living on beans for a year or three, hoping for an eventual return on their sacrifice and effort. Plus there are the additional costs of packaging, advertising, and distributing. It often takes years and many thousands of bucks to finally get a product worth selling, and then people feel free to "take" it.

I know of this personally. My husband and I produce modestly clever and original educational materials, and we live on a combined income equal to one schoolteacher. Users of our lessons will often nonchalantly report, (to us!) that they are sharing and trading our materials with colleagues in direct violation of our copyright restrictions, so we know we are losing sales.

Of course we will mention that this is a violation, which can be awkward right there, but we doubt that our needs will ever cross their minds even after explaining. It's just too convenient to cheat/steal/ignore those copyright notices. People are inclined to hear what they want, rationalize away what they don't want.

We've been hanging on by our fingernails for nearly 30 years because we know we are doing good work in the world. But it's financially challenging. Please respect other people's need to make a profit on their work.

Ditto to what Kristy G. said. The only difference is I am on week 4. Like her, I am not trying to lose weight just be in the best shape of my life! It is a wonderful, hard program but, you can do it! I eat heathly anyway so I really didn't change my diet but, I eat like Kristy suggests. You should buy or borrow the dvd's since copying them is illegal. They are surely copyrighted. Try Craigslist,Ebay and Amazon.com for cheaper than ordering it directly from tv.

HI!

I give you props for even coinsidering the P90X! That is one heck of a workout! I was going to do it but after watching my hubby I said forget it! If you are having trouble buning the DVD's on the computer it may have a block so that you can't do it. My hubby has had success with the program but you really have to stick to it to see it. The actual program comes with a whole menu that you should eat while doing it. It also comes with acess to a website and support.
If you can't get the DVD to burn then you should check it on on craigslist or even on ebay. You can get it a little cheaper and you could get the whole set and everything that comes with it!
Good Luck and please keep us posted on the progress you make!

I haven't tried it, but my hubby did it at work. A team of people got together at lunch time and did the work out together for 90 days. They loved it so much that they did the Insanity program after that. He didn't change his diet too much, but I did try to eliminate unhealthy carbs as much as possible from our family meals. He added a protein shake into his diet daily. He lost quite a bit of weight over the past year and looks fabulous. He is not buffed up and meaty muscularly but very lean from all of the cardio. He was a little over the top and would take 20 minute runs when he got home from work periodically. The only word of caution I have is that he now is suffering from a knee injury and can't work out at all and is destined for surgery (meniscus tear). He hurt his knee during the Insanity workout, but he thinks it is from all of the intense workouts for so many months in a row. Just be careful to watch your form, and make sure you modify moves during the jumping sequences if you feel like you are straining your knees or hips.

Good luck and good for you for taking on a new program!!!!

Hi! I am actually a Beachbody Coach in Tucson. I must say I am proud of you for even thinking of starting the program. Beachbody has so many great workouts & P90X is definately one of the best. In case you are interested, every Tuesday night a group of us get together on the East side of town (at Focus Fitness on Pantano) for a free Beachbody workout. Every month we change (last month was TurboFire & this month is P90X). It would be a great opportunity for you to see & try out the workout for free. Contact me if you think you might be interested. I would love to be your coach & help keep you motivated. Getting into shape & being healthy are so important during the times that we are in now! Let me know & good luck! :)

Isnt it against the law to copy things like that?
