I need to buy a new bed. I’ve been looking around and it seems that the good old mattress and box spring does not exist anymore. They all seem to be some sort of foam mattress with metal platforms. My first question is what happened to a normal bed? The next question is does anyone have a recommendation or a horror story to share on what brand to avoid? I’ve read reviews for big names like Purple and they are mixed. I’m also a little shocked at how expensive a big piece of foam is. Are there really any differences in the foam mattresses that are worth thousands of dollars?
