I am looking for a dependable, reasonably priced yard service in Allen. I would prefer a company that doesn't require a contract and charges around $20 per yard. (I think that's the going rate these days??) Also, they would need to do flower beds and fertilizing too (if needed).
Thanks for your help!!
$20/yard? How large is your yard?
Granted....I am on a about 1/2 acre so my neighbors and I in Allen will be more but $20 sounds very low.
I live in West Allen and we've had 3 services. 2 required contracts and we paid them around $200 a month. The other one was just a guy and his buddy and they charged us $45 a week and did NOTHING but trim and mow. Our lot is very large and tiered in levels so it is more difficult to work with vs the normal sized yards in our neighborhood.
My hubby does it now because when we used the services, our yard always had a fungus or disease. Now that we do it ourselves (yes more time comsuming but done correctly) our yard has been the best it has ever been.
The company we used and liked the most was PLM. I'm not sure if they have a no contract deal. We paid a fee all 12 months for service.
You'll probably be getting flyers at your door soon with independent guys who may be able to give you a good deal. I know we get bombarded with flyers.
Good luck.
I think it is unreasonable for $20 a yard, especially if you want flower beds and fertilizing too. I pay $35 a week for my yard, flower beds, and edging. Fertilization is an extra $45 at the beginning of the season. I don't enter into a contract. I use JAMA Landscaping (www.jamalandscaping.com). They are really nice guys and do great work. Now you maybe able to find a high school kid that will do it for $20, but the 14 year old in my neighborhood charges $25 just for a mow.
