Need a great OB/GYN in N.Dallas,Plano or in that general area

I just don't feel comfortable with my current OB/GYN we just don't "click". I like one of the partners in her practice (she actually delivered my first child b/c she happened to be on call when labor started), but can't switch due to the rules of the practice. I really need a personable physician that will talk to me and not make me feel like just another patient. I prefer a female ,but would consider a male as well.THanks so much I look forward to your replies.

I can't say enough good things about Dr. Camille Clark at Medical City, and frankly I really liked every doctor in her practice. I had four pregnancies with her, two of which were successful, but were high risk multiple births. She is caring and understanding, and I was comfortable with every other doctor in her practice. She was also very caring and understanding with the two miscarriages, which happened in the second tri-mester. I have had other doctors that I did not feel that way about and I understand your need to change. Good luck.

I see Dr. Julie Thomas in Carrollton on Hebron and Josey in the Trinty building. She is in Contemporary Women's Center. I have had her for 11 years now. Look her up and see what you think

I LOVE Dr. Michelle Heintges at Medical City. I ended up getting her when my OB at the same practice retired, and I've never regretted it. She is very upbeat and personable. I'm almost sad that we aren't going to have any more kids and I only see her once a year now!

Dr. Jennifer Allen at McKinney Medical Center is wonderful. Personable, open, and kind. If I was going to go back to an OBGYN (I've changed to a midwife), she would be one of the few that I'd choose. Woman to Woman with Dr. Graham is a fabulous group too, and they are at Baylor Dallas.

Dr. Katrina Walsh, 1600 Coit Rd Ste 402, 972-519-1900. She may be in the process of moving her practice to Presby Plano...this is where she did my last surgery. She is wonderful. About in her mid to late 40's. She didn't deliver my children only because we moved to Allen from Dallas and had to change due to insurance purposes.

Dr Garret Garner at Presby Plano. He's with Northlake OBGYN and is fabulous!! There are 2 women in his practice who are very nice but I LOVE him!! He's younger, his wife is a pediatrician and they have 3 kids! There's nothing he hasn't seen or heard and he always has a smile on his face:-}

Dr. Katrina Walsh in Plano is fantastic!! (972)519-1900 She has delivered both of my children (2 csections). Everything went great and I cant imagine going to another doctor. Her office is at Medical Center of Plano but I think she delivering at Presby Plano now.

I love Dr. Fawzia Nora Jaffee. She is in practice close to Presby Plano. Her partner, Dr. Gwen Webster, is also great. 5940 W Parker Rd Ste 200, Plano, 972-781-0456

Dr Charles Downey (972-231-9144)is one of my favs delivering at Richardson Regional. He is very mindful of the wishes of the birthing parents and is collaborative OB for 2 midwives at a Rishcardson birth center. You will have a very good chance of achieving hte birth you want with him without the fight it sometimes takes with other OB's.

At Baylor Downtown Dr.s Graham & Lawson are also some of my favorites. Women to Women at 214-823-6500. Baylor is also one of my favorite hospitals to doula at. They will do everything in their power to help you achieve the birth you want. Some of THE BEST nurses in DFW!!! I have never had a bad brth experience there.

Also at Baylor Dallas is Nurse Midwife Lyndsay Stephens ( Susan Akins recently moved on to New MExico and We miss her!) 214-824-3200 Her and the other midiwfe( Whom I dont know) Jane Singer practice in collaboration with 8 OB's. Dr, Kurian I had a great experience with last year with a 19 year old client that fired her OB 5 days before the baby was borna nd she did the delivery as the oncall doc!

Good luck!

I love Dr.Jennifer Campbell who is at Plano Presby Hospital. Several friends love her too. 972-981-7711

Katrina Walsh
972-519-1900
She offices at Medical Center of Plano, but now does all deliveries at Plano Presby. Only two doctors in her practice - during pregnancy appts, you see the other Dr. (Sharma) only 1 time. But she is wonderful also. Both are very kind and caring. If you can't think of any questions for Dr. Walsh, she'll just sit and have small talk with you.... I have never felt like "just another patient" in her office.
Good Luck with your search.

I absolutley LOVE my Ob/Gyn. it's a guy but he is fantastic and even after I moved 40 minutes drive away from him I still refused to find anyone else and he just delivered my third baby. I love love love him!!! And his staff has always been great to me. Dr. Bruce Rajala

I would advise checking out the hospitals too. Some hospitals are highly interventive for everyone who comes in, resulting in a high rate of c-sections. Others are much more flexable. Some take the baby away right away, and do lots of tests which are unnecessary in most cases. Dr. Downey at Richardson, Dr. Norwood, Dr. Romberg, or Lindsay Stephens (midwife in same practice is excellent. www.wha-docs.com. Best hospital for mother and baby? Baylor Dallas by far! Medical Center of Plano, I've heard the new Baylor hospital in Frisco and the McKinney hospital. Google to see what questions to ask potential doctors. The doctor & hospital makes a big difference in a good or bad experience in childbirth. Educate yourself and you will be fine. Note: sometimes male doctors are better because they have more time. Women have commitments at home and to children, which takes time and focus.

Dr. Amy Sigman at Medical City Dallas. 972-566-7760 I love her! She delivered my first baby almost two and a half years ago and I'm hoping she'll be on call the day I deliver my next one in a few weeks. I can't say enough great things about her. I know I'm going to miss her when I go back to seeing her just once a year!

I use Dr. Jean McClintock at Northlake OB/GYN 972-566-7711. I she's awesome, love her, can't say enough wonderful things about her. She knows my idiosyncrasies, and she works with me instead of by the book. She's at Medical City and they also have a Plano office.

Wouldn't go anywhere else.

I absolutely love Amy Sigman. She is very friendly and makes it feel like you are talking to a friend...none of that Dr./patient attitude. I saw someone else recommended Dr. Heintges and she is is in the same practice. They are an awesome group!

Mary Plank works with womens health alliance at Baylor hosp. My daughter and I like her alot. She's very thorough in her exams too. Good luck in your search.

Dr. Evans and his partner (female--fantastic!!!!) at Presby Dallas. I couldn't praise them enough!!!!

My OB's name is Janelle Watts. She has an office at Plano Medical Center and also Plano Presby. She was my third ob and the first woman. I absolutely love her. I felt so comfortable with her and she felt comfortable with me. Everyone I have talked to in the waiting room while waiting to be seen also say that she is really great. Good Luck finding just the right one.
