For years I have seen doctors for various "vague" symptoms like GI problems, dizzy spells, and pelvic pain. I've never received a satisfactory explanation or treatment plan for any of my symptoms. Recently I discovered that I am severely allergic to several antibiotics (found out the hard way) and I seem to be sensitive to many pharmaceuticals in general. My question is, should I consider seeing a different type of physician, like a naturopath or osteopath? I really don't know much about these different types of doctors and would love to get some feedback. I'm wondering if my allergies and sensitivities to meds could also mean food sensitivities exist as well, and if so perhaps they have something to do with my ailments. I'm not a sick person, just looking to improve my quality of life, you know? I live in Merrimack NH. If you can recommend somebody, even an herbalist, I would appreciate it. Thanks.
Hi Rachel,
I would definitely recommend a natural doctor - they get to the root of the problem, they don't mask the symptoms with drugs. I had allergy issues several years ago. The allergy doctor wanted to put me on allergy shots for a year and a half. I decided to see an herbalist instead. I took some herbs, watched my diet more carefully and it all cleared up. Since then I found a natural doctor in Portsmouth, NH. It's called The D'Adamo Institute for the Advancement of Natural Therapies (603 430-7600). Dr. D'Adamo is world renowned and has people from all over the world come to him, some celebrities too. There are 4 doctors there in the practice, plus registered nurses as well. They've helped my family and several of our friends very much - including cancer patients. Following their prescribed regimen, which is customized for each patient, brought my husbands cholesterol down by almost 100 points in 3 months! So it definitely works. The down side is that most insurance companies don't pay for anything natural so you end up paying for it out of your own pocket. It's worth looking into it though - your health is vital. I hope you get to the bottom of it all.

Hi
I am an Occupational Therapist and I have had the same issues. I am now primarily using a ND. I would recommend Amanda Tracey. She is in North Andover. Her number is(978) 327-5960. She is good at weaving traditional medicine with the more natural products.
Good Luck
