Hi Moms:
I am going to start a search for a nanny for PT beginning in August. I am aware of www.sittercity.com, www.care.com and www.enannysource.com. I have reviewed all of the sites and the first two seem to have the largest selection of nannies (although my current summer nanny tells me that she cannot remove her profile from www.care.com no matter how hard she tries!). Before investing in a membership, I wondered if any of the brilliant Moms on this site might have some firsthand experience with pros on cons on any of those sites. Thanks a million, in advance!
I have used sittercity and enannysource to post my ads for nannies. I don't have any experience with care.com so I can't speak for that site directly, although just browsing at it now, I recognize all of the people that popped up as being on the other sites. I think most people looking for work will post on multiple sites, so you would probably have good luck with any of them. With that being said, I personally would recommend sittercity over enannysource. All of the nannies I have hired have come from sittercity and I have been happy with all of them. I also feel that with your looking for part-time help, you will probably find more people on sittercity ... enannysource has more people that are looking for full-time work. I also love sittercity because it is more cost effective and you can also post to find a regular babysitter for evenings out and I have found quite a few good ones and I have also posted for a last-minute sitter when I forgot to ask ahead of time and have had received as many as 30 responses! Lastly, for some reason, the nannies on enannysource seem to request more money.. I think you will find more "career" nannies on there, which is great if you have the money for it, but I've found
that hiring girls that are currently in school and being able to work around their schedule helps a lot with my budget. I do have to hire again every year to two, but if that saves us 200-300 per week, that works for us! Good luck!
