nanny 911 in Rockwall

I am clueless and would appreciate some guidance. I would like to hire someone to come into my home and care for my newborn son 1 or 2 days a week from 8:30 am until 3:00 pm(6 1/2 hours). I work from home and will be there as well most of the time when I don't have to take a meeting, but I learned from my experience with my first son that I really can't work and take care of him at the same time. I would not expect any cooking or cleaning - just watching my little guy. My 3 1/2 year-old will be in Mommy's-Day-Out during this time. What is a fair rate to pay for something like this? Any tips or suggestions from anyone who has successfully done this? I am planning on placing ads in the local papers - is there another place to search for help like this? Thanks for any help! - Nicki

Instead of placing an ad which could draw many responses that you don't want why don't you try to contact a nanny service or a local college. Alot of students have classes only a few days a week and maybe you could find someone in a teaching program that wants some extra cash or experience w/ kids. I would also make them get a background check if you are going w/ someone you don't know and they'll be in your home. Good luck.

don't know if you are still looking for someone, but I live in Rockwall, and do not work! I am due Christmas Eve, but need to get out of the house and do something! I have a college degree, and I LOVE LOVE LOVE kids!! My husband is an elementary teacher in Rockwall, and I was planning on doing some substitute work for a few months for extra money! I can provide references! I have worked in the Lake Pointe nursery for 2 years (2001-2003),and have a minor in interdisciplinary studies! Just a thought! Hope you find what works for you!!
