looking for playgroups in north orange county area

hi mamas! i am a new sahm, laid off in september just before my son was born. i also have a very active 2 1/2 yr old girl and we are looking for some new friends! does anyone know of any playgroups in the area, or is interested in getting together to play once or twice a week? and any info and advice on my new job is greatly appreciated too! ;)

check out meetup.com I don't know much about your area or I'd try to be more helpful!

Hi Sara. You should check out momsclub.org and find the local club for your area. It's a great way to meet other SAHMs and find a playgroup, as well as other activities to do throughout the day.

Also, please check out http://oc.citymommy.com when you have a chance. It is a great resource for moms and you can get answers to all of your parenting questions. Plus, it has a directory of kid-friendly business, listings of upcoming events, and more. You can probably also find other moms in your area to meet up with. And it's all FREE!

Good luck being a SAHM. I hope you love it.

Hi Sara,

I'm sure you'll get lots of responses like this, but in case you don't, have you tried looking into MOMS Club? For a very nominal annual fee, they offer play groups, moms night out, field trips, and age appropriate play groups. It's a national organization and a great way for your daughter and you to meet people in your area.

Good luck!

Lorna

MOMSClub.org to find a local chapter!

Belly Sprout in Fullerton has a mommy and me group get together on Friday mornings I think.

Check them out... www.bellysprout.com

i was going to say MOMS CLUB, but looks like thats covered! Not only playgroups but many outtings and mom's night out (or in) every month! We do stuff with ours about 2 times a week.

Hi Sara,
I would suggest trying MOMS Club. It's a support group for stay at home moms and their children. I am president of the Anaheim chapter and have found it a blessing to have made so many new friends for myself and my son since I became a SAHM two years ago. The chapters are divided by city so the best thing to do is to log on to www.momsclub.org and click on "Finding a Chapter Near You/Join" option. Just follow the instructions. You can read more about what MOMS Club is all about there on the website. There is a minimal annual fee to belong and that is determined by the number of members in that particular chapter. For instance, our chapter's rather small and its annual dues per member are $20. If you have problems getting a response from the website or have any questions I can try to answer for you please feel free to send me a private message on this board.

Good luck!

April
