We're new to the Twin Cities (just moved up from Chicago). I'm trying to find a great dentist for myself, husband and 16 month old. I love the idea of a holistic dentist.
Any ideas?
I'm also looking for a great orthodontist. I need conventional braces-was told InVisalign won't work for me. I'd love to hear any recommendations for this as well.
Welcome to the Twin Cities! I, too, am a transplant from Louisiana about a year ago! In looking for dental care for my family, we were referred to Dr. Snell at Silver Lake Dental in New Brighton. She is wonderful and very thorough. Her staff is so caring. While they are examining you or doing any work, you can have your hands waxed, listen to headphones, and be covered in a warm blanket! She talks to you the entire time and explains exactly what she is doing. I had a root canal just this week, and I had no pain whatsoever. The next day Dr. Snell called to check on me. I've been to lots of different dentists over the years, but I do believe this is the best experience I have ever had! My husband doesn't like dentists, but he likes Dr. Snell and her staff.
Hope this helps. If you decide to go, please let them know that I referred you!
Where are you located? For an orthodontist we have been very happy with Dr. Jennifer Eisenhuth. She has offices in White Bear Lake and Eagan. I think she caters her practice to children and teenagers, but has adult patients also. She isn't the cheapest orthodontist we checked out, but also not the most expensive.
I don't know what area of the cities you live in, but I know when I moved, I had been given a recommendation from my previous dentist--call a periodontist in the area where you live now, and ask who they recommend as a dentist. The periodontist sees people after decay/gum disease, etc, has gone "too far" so if a dentist hasn't done his job right, a periodontist would know, so therefore, they can make a good recommendation as to who you SHOULD see!
