Midwifery Care Associates in White Flint. They are in the same office as an OB practice. This is the best option in Rockville. Using midwives will give your wife a practitioner who will spend more time with her and practice evidence based care. Here's their info:(240) 514-0140, 11301 Rockville Pike, 3rd Floor
North Bethesda, MD 20895

(in the White Flint Mall), www.midwiferycareassociates.com
Hope this helps. If she is looking for a childbirth education class or doula services, please feel free to contact me.

Welcome to Rockville. My husband, son (3.5) and I live in downtown. I see Dr. Wolfgram at Capital Worman's Care (at the Bethesda location). Not crazy about the admin, but I overlook that because he is great! I recommend you find a doctor that delivers at Shady Grove Hospital (a short drive from Rockville). A great resource for your family is the DC Urban Mom web site (google it). You can do a search in the Pregnancy board for Wolfgram and read all the reviews. They are pretty spot on! It also has great advice on child care and many different aspects of parenting. I refer to this resource often. Best of luck. Amy If you have any questions I'd be happy to answer. I have worked in Rockville for 11 years and lived here for 4.

I cannot say enough good things about Dr. Anne Shrout at Simmonds Martin & Helmbrecht. She has an office in White Flint mall:
11301 Rockville Pike # 3, Kensington, MD 20895-1060
(240) 514-0140

She also has an office in Montgomery Village (and Damascus). They all go to Shady Grove Hospital in Rockville, which I recommend for its NICU in case you have any issues.

She delivered my twins safely at 32 wks (via emergency c-section as I had preeclampsia and ruptured placenta), has a great bedside manner, and I have several friends who have also had extremely positive experiences w/ her. Drs. Martin, Simmonds and Helbrecht are great as well; you have to rotate w/ the MDs so you get familiar w/ all of them as whoever is working the day your wife has the baby will be the one to deliver.
